I put up with 7 years of that crap. Please delete the thread and get rid of his name. Just don't want to hear anything good or bad about whats his name

My bad guys, you are right, I had no idea that Al Davis hired the first black and hispanic coaches in this league. But I still think the league as a whole has a lot of racism against black coaches.

Well I don't think the racisim exist on the sideline anymore. Please point to a team that this might exist or has the perception that this might exist. The Lions come to mind but I think that might be it.

Would be a interesting thread to talk about if we don't get to personal. I am white and would love dearly to discuss things like this to open my mind to how others percieve things.

SKINSnCANES 09-14-2004 05:05 PM

this thread is about turned, not racism. I dotn see hardly any racisim in football anymore.

As far as turners coaching, eh, whatever i dotn even care. The raiders have a good team in my opinon. I think as the season goes on no one will run on them up the middle. Sapp and Washington, damn.

it might be problems getting opportunities too... the redskins ownership at one point in time refused to have any black players on its roster.... until they found out that the team couldn't win anything like that ;)

ted is getting older, but he's still good... sapp may have already past his prime though...

VTSkins897 09-14-2004 06:18 PM

i dunno i have to disagree guys. i like norv turner. give him one of the D-coords that the skins had following his ousting and see the skins being a lot better. it was under norv that we last went to the playoffs so...

but that's neither here nor there for the skins... we got gibbs and that's all we need

saden1 09-14-2004 08:51 PM

A pickle has more passion and enthusiasm than Norvel. One thing is for sure, players are pissed!

monk81 09-14-2004 09:14 PM

I enjoyed watching the Raiders play when John Madden was in charge....but since Madden left I HATE the Raiders.......not as much as Dallas though :dallas:

monk81 09-14-2004 09:32 PM

Don't give me a scare like that with the heading.................:stop:

I was flashing back thinking Joe Gibbs as head coach was just a dream and we were back in the Redskin Norval Turner era.............................

celts32 09-15-2004 02:26 PM

You know the real truth about Norv is that he is not even that good an offensive coordinator when he doesn't have Aikman, Emmit & Irvin at his disposal...

Well, I have a different opinion on that subject. I absolutely detest racism - in any form - in fact, had a huge rift with a member of my family over her racism. But I also dislike screams of racism when it is not appropriate. No one seems to point out that the REAL plum jobs in the NFL (the HIGH PAYING jobs with the most opportunity for FAME) are probably manned by 60-80% minorities. If they are going to even ATTEMPT to get the coaching ranks in a ratio that reflects the overall population, then they should be attempting to do the same thing in the player ranks. I really think all this noise Jesse Jackson and others are making about NFL racism (and the POOR way it is being handled re: coaches) is totally ludicrous and disgusting.
