im old school. how about we wait until he makes some plays, and then we decide?
I was thinking the same thing. |
Re: Brian Orakpo - Nickname!!
Just wanted to say congrats on Orakpo. He is one hell of a player. Living in San Antonio and a lifelong fan and alum of Texas, I have seen this guy play and watched him every weekend in the fall.
Dude is a beast, he is fast and strong. He reminds me a lot of Freeney. His strength is his greatest assett. He may seem smallish to some, but his upper body strength is elusive and he can shed blockers fast. The dude benches 515. You will enjoy watching him play. Nice pick. |
Re: Brian Orakpo - Nickname!!
I think I'll watch him play some before giving any thought to a nickname. Trying to think of one now is like Lavar making up his own nickname.

Yeah my only concern there is that we aren't built to have non-run stopping ends. Our LB corps isn't prepared to take up that slack. To me that means we have to get gimmicky with the use of Orakpo and I's rather just tweak our system to have our ends pin their ears back to go after the QB and the LBs fill in behind them for run support. But Blades is probably too small for that type of continual role. Fletcher would be fine in it. Rocky probably excels there. That still leaves a huge hole where every team will run. Identify Blades' side and run there. Then we'll need to support behind that with Landry and suddenly our CBs are on islands again. |
Re: Brian Orakpo - Nickname!!
I guess the hope is that Haynesworth reall clogs the middle and helps us channel LB efforts in very prescribed and specific ways that will allow them to be where they need to be a split second faster.

Mr. Nickels:doh: Seriously, this is really gay for us to be sitting here discussing what we can nickname the new guy who we'll never meet. |

Re: Brian Orakpo - Nickname!!
The Rak..............The Rak is described as a large winged creature with glowing red eyes that can fly in the air, run like a deer and swim like a fish. Inside its body is a glowing furnace of fire which allows the creature to breathe out smoke. Its smoky breath blankets the surrounding area like a thick, black fog with an aroma of salt and pepper. It is bigger than a hundred men and feeds on any living thing. (description from book Tik Tok of OZ)

If it bothers you so much why are you even commenting? Why not shrug your shoulders and move on? I guess your the type to have to control everything around you OR you're just really boring. Let people have their fun. |
