Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
1. Portis
2. Betts 3. Alridge (also returning kicks) I have a feeling they are not in love with Rock. Seems like they went out of the way to bring in competition. |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
anyways, if anybody is going to replace someone on that lineup of 3, I'll say Alridge
they've had him doing returns, lining up as a wideout, and running the rock - versatility that Rock can't provide, or at least hasn't been asked to a lot of people in Denver were excited about Alridge before his injury and I think that this year or next he could easily be a number 3 back anywhere and a number 2 on many teams
It was also brought up that the rules have changed in regards to how KR's are blocked which will put a damper on players like Rock who rely on holes being made and hitting them fast and decleating opponants. Now it seems everyone may be looking for the speed guy who can get up field quicker and possibly make opponants miss a few tackles. I think this yr Rock is let go for a more faster/shiftier back who can do all the jobs, KR/PR/RB/WR. Now do I see Betts going anywhere....no. but if Zorn is looking to get younger or to have a younger guy for Portis to mold for our future then I see him as gone. Portis Mason (under dog man crush) Aldridge (complete small package) Dorsey (Practice squad) I see the future of the RB's. Then I realized I was day dreaming; Portis Betts Aldridge Dorsey....maybe practice squad. Depends on how well he does. I don't think Mason can go on practic squad again since he was on a roster last yr. I think he gets let go ....again. |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
Orakpo has a really fast 40 time. I know it would never happen but I would love too see him get the rock right up the middle for short yardage plays. I am sure if he can bench 530pd he probably wont fumble.

I love that Rock never leaves us in a bad position and that he isn't afraid, but sometimes you see a hole and it's like damn man, why didn't you go for that instead of just hitting the 2 guys that you're one blocker is trying to hold back? And the rule, I don't even know why that exists, it's ridiculous. If someone is a couple yards out is that no longer a wedge? no 3 man? what about 2 up front, 2 behind.. or 2 groups of 2 side by side with a gap in the middle? did we really lose many (or any) players to a 3 man wedge last year in the NFL? |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?

Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
maybe your right. lol he might not be tradeable at all

I think if Betts was able to spell Portis more often and shine a little he might have some trade value, but Portis doesn't come out unless he's extremely exhausted or hurt. I honestly don't think we would get a very high pick for him either. If he was all that great people would have been lining up to sign him when he was available. If I remember correctly he had no nibbles and actually got less then what he thought he would get. |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
Portis
alridge Mason Betts and rock get cut |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
1. Portis
2. Betts 3. Aldridge (PR & KR) It's pretty obvious from what they bought in the FO and offensive staff want a Sproles like player on the roster, which Rock is not. The fact that Aldridge was endorsed by Shanahan probably endears him more to the FO than the fact Rock is a holdover from previous regimes. |

1. Portis 2. Betts (dont HATE EM, but hes so damn tradeable... i want a dif #2) 3. Cartwright
We could get a 5th round pick AT BEST for Betts. He's not elite in anything he does, he'll be 30 this year and is often injured. |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
Portis
alridge Mason Betts and rock get cut
Even if Alridge and Mason outperformed in camp I doubt that Betts would get cut. |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
He's part of the fan's "All-Cut" team...
- Rock - ARE - Rabach - Jensen - Campbell - Sellers (2008 offseason)
And Betts...lol |
Re: What RB will make the roster, where at on roster, and why?
Portis
Betts Brian Mitchell (all time great returner)(it's a tough market and he's gonna need a job) |
