No way. Why make a decision following performances during live action in pads when we can just blindly anoint someone?

I vote we go with the back-up QB with the coolest name, Colt? Chase? Definitely not Todd. Or maybe whoever has the coolest visor and leg tights (in the middle of summer).
A lot of people will say Collins & Colt to be the 2nd & 3rd QB's on the depth chart. But some should remember that Chase was a Heisman candidate also and not a bad QB at all. I think we were lucky to have him fall in our lap. All rookies don't pan out of course. But would you take your chance with Collins (back up QB) over Chase (3rd QB) because he is a veteran or go for the upside.

That being said please add this to the equation. Collins was the product of a system in which he was in for over 10 years. He did lead us to a win streak a couple of years ago but stunk it up in the playoff game vs Seattle. This current system is not that system. May be why he looked so horrible last preseason. So what are your thoughts. I think Colt has gained enough experience (in this system) to be our starting QB after he sits on more season and Chase could also be a vaulable project after one year on the sidelines..
I wouldn't say he stunk it up in the playoffs. Cooley botched that pass on the sideline that would have given the Skins first and goal. Instead, they missed the FG and came away with zilch.

I think the standard should be who has said "aloha" the most. This criterion, of course, is the defining standard for qb excellence. Colt wins.

Let me try to be objective here...

IF any of these three QBs have to take over the starting job anytime before 15 October for the rest of the year, that will NOT be a good omen for the Washington Redskins in 2009.

I am not convinced that Collins can make it happen for a long stretch of games.

I doubt that Colt is ready to be a starter in the NFC East.

I know Chase is not ready to be a starter in the NFC East.

The thing to root for is that Jason Campbell continues on his improvement curve for the entirety of 2009...
Well if we let JC go then that means he didnt get it done. Some say he isnt a good fit for the WCO. that he is more of a deep passer than a short timing kind of QB but if he does leave i wish him the best as long as he goes to the AFC :)
Colt probably would have some turnovers but thats what comes with guys who take chances. high risk high reward. so you have to take the good with the bad but i would hope there are more good plays than bad ones.
How do you know Colt will give the skins more wins??? Just because he was airing out in preseason, doesn't mean he will be able to do that during regular season games. He was able to play like that because those game didn't matter. He didn't have any real pressure to wins those games. His whole style may change once he actually is pressured to win games. I like Colt, but lets be real the passess he threw in preseason could have easily been pick off. If Colt was so great why were they looking to draft Sanchez and trade for Cutler?? Why not just make JC the number #2 and start Colt?? Apparently the FO don't trust any of the QBs on the skins.

I cant say Colt will win more games than JC. Im just sayin id rather see a QB who gets the ball out and pushes the ball downfield than mr hold the ball and checkdown. it will keep the defense honest and help CP in the running game. IMO JC is gone next yr either way. if he plays great do you honestly think he will stay after what the FO did to him? so we may as well see what we have so we know if we need to draft a QB or go after one in FA next yr.

I go with Colt #2 Chase #3.The only reason is Collins has been a back up his whole career and in his prime he was a third stringer behind W. Moon and R. Gannon.Moon was loosing steps and his ability during said time and for Gannon, I never thought he was very good he got lucky in Oakland w/ Jon Gruden,we cut him (Gannon) in 1993 after one season which he started 3 games.

As for me I hope Colt or Chase has some T. Brady in them no expierence but just natural ability to play the game and win.Im steal pulling 4 a JC ass kicking year.

Isnt collins hurting the salary cap

Re: Which 2? Collins.Colt.Chase..

Im sayin if JC struggles we may as well see what we have. if we let him have another season like last and then he leaves in FA we are starting a new QB next yr either way. So do you want to throw in a rookie or a guy thats been on the bench for 2 yrs? neither with real playing experience.
