Re: Chiefs sign Cassel to 6-yr 63M deal
Dwayne Bowe?
Seriously, he's been in the league for 2 seasons and has posted 70 catches, 995 yards and 5 TD's and 86 catches, 1022 yards and 7 TD's with the carousel of mediocre quarterbacks they've been trotting out there, that's pretty damn impressive. They may not have any other options, short of Jamaal Charles (and I'm basing that on his ability in open space, but I believe he can catch), to throw to, but Dwayne Bowe is a beast! |
Re: Chiefs sign Cassel to 6-yr 63M deal
They're taking a chance here, but most fa/vet contracts are just that. If they've got a solid offense in 2 years this signing will look fine.

Bowe rules but they don't have much beyond him. |
Re: Chiefs sign Cassel to 6-yr 63M deal
Bobby Engram gives the Chiefs a good veteran for the time being

Cassel got 63 how much is guaranteed. The Skins are going to wish they signed JC to a contract he's going to break the bank.

I thought I heard 28 mil is guarenteed. I could be wrong that could be Suggs contract, it was the same amount. I think this is yet another dumb move by a dumb orginization. Getting Cassel was not dumb IMO, paying him a HUGE amount of salary is. He has not proven ANYTHING yet. I guess you don't have to in this league. |
Campbell is better than Jake Delhomme and as for Cassel I can't say JC is better because he did go 11-5 last year fresh off the pine..
too bad cassell's been in the system for a few years and jc was in a brand new one with a rookie coach...but yeah besides that the situations were identical get real, cassell is a product of the system and if tom brady who is a far better qb had been in there instead, the pats would have won the superbowl |

That's a bold assumption. What IF Campbell throws for 3600-3700 yards and 20 or 21 tds? What would you pay him? |

If he does that well in his second year in the WCO with Thomas, Kelly, and Davis in their second year and an offensive line that hasn't changed much from last year, I'd pay him a LOT. The 3rd year should be GREAT! |

No more Tony Gonzalez so teams can double team him since there's nobody else. Bobby Engram is old and I don't know what he has left. I think Bowe was third in the NFL in drops last year anyways. I saw this article a little while ago too ... http://nooffseason.com/player-news/bowe-struggling-with-drops.html |
Re: Chiefs sign Cassel to 6-yr 63M deal
