re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
so ya gotta ask, was he waiting for Vick to sign so he wouldn't get upstaged?
Who cares. This guy is an attention whore, always has been.
I'm no Favre apologist, but I think it has more to do with a common story line. A player/coach displays a genuine side, he gets celebrated for the image that his otherwise genuine nature reflects, but then he gets caught up in that image and starts overtly trying to preserve it, and suddenly starts looking like a phony. That's certainly the Favre story line. I don't know if he always was an attention whore, but I certainly agree he is now. |

i have no problem w/ him playing. but be a professional and stop being a diva, crybaby, selfish, high maintenence drama queen.....aka clinton portis. if he wanted to REALLY play then go to training camp, mini camp and ota practices. i blame the vikings more than i blame farve. this is going to blow up in their face when he throws 4 picks and then cries about making the wrong decision. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Schefter reporting it's a done deal pending passing a physical. 2 years $10-$12M.
What a circus act he's become. |

Maybe. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with training camp. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
I don't like him his best days are behind him. I think Favre needs a hug he wants to be wanted, have you seen how many INT 310 to TD's 465 a diff of 155 wow thats not much of a difference IMO it equals for every 3 TD's he throws 2 INT's. They give him to much leway and if he had the B & G i would be mad very mad, madder than if Cutler or Sanchez had it on.

Exactly. Not only was he dishonest and deceitful about his intentions, he was a total puss about it too- skipping out on camp and a chance to get to know his new teammates knowing damn well he was gonna sign anyway. Now he enters his time in Minnesota with an air of superiority. The guys in that locker room are friends with Sage and Tavaris, and have been working their butts off side by side with them in training camp. Now comes this old diva, who with no preparation or work whatsoever will unseat the other two QBs and simply fall into the starting lineup. Shitty for chemistry IMO. I can't stand Favre anymore. It's a shame. I used to love the guy. I'm not gonna lie, I hope he falls falt on his face with this comeback attempt. He needs to go away. |

Yeah, but didn't the Vikings originally say he had to be there for TC? oh well, it will be interesting. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
This has gotten ridiculous. I used to love Brett Favre, now I just want to go away...that's saying a lot. I'm still going to root for the guy, but I have no faith in him actually doing all that well. He's certainly an upgrade over what they had, but it could still be a pretty brutal season for them.
The thing I don't get is why would the Vikes go after him? They don't need a guy who's going to take the chances that Brett is going to take. It makes a lot more sense to have Tavaris in there trying to manage games and occasionally trying to make big throws. It seems like Favre takes the opposite approach to a lot of games, with their running attack and D, they should be a team that controls the clock and wins 13-6 each week, if necessary, you add Favre and you'll probably put up 35 one week and then he'll throw 3 picks the next week. This is a big risk for Minnesota. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Was gonna start a thread ...but said NAH. This isn't talk, Farve will be a Vik by days end. All left is a pending physical and put a bow on this package!
Farve is a VIKING, its just a statement from BF and the viks that has to be released at this point! This is a done deal. Source says Brett Favre will sign with Minnesota Vikings pending a physical - ESPN |

This is a big risk for Minnesota.
It really is. Minnesota felt like they upgraded their QB position this year by bringing in Sage Rosenfels and having Tavaris with one more year under his belt. On that note, if you compare the combined numbers of Vikings' QBs last year with Favre's numbers last year, VERY similar. Both with 22 TDs, Favre with more picks, both with ratings of 81, and the Vikings actually won one more game than the Jets. And Favre turns 40 this year. Whatever, Minnesota. Enjoy. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
The guy has mental problems. He can still play, but I sure am sick of hearing his name.
