That's not how I saw it. Arrington didn't "nearly decapitat[e]" anyone. He had two fingers on Barber's face mask for a fraction of a second. His hand then slid down to Barber's shoulder pad, which he pulled to make the tackle. It may have warranted a five-yard penalty, but it wasn't even close to what Urlacher did.

Lavar and Urlachers plays weren't even close. Lavar barely touched Tiki's facemask. Urlacher nearly put Clinton out of the game. He definitely deserves to be fined, and more than Lavar!!!!

thanks for the story smootsmack, so i guess he was fined since there wasn't a flag in the game???! otherwise he barely touched tiki's mask.

it was to make up for crappy officiating i'd guess... not fair, but typical.

Urlacher needs to be suspended.

From today's Wash. Times:

Note — Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was fined $5,000 for unnecessary roughness in last weekend's game, an NFL spokeswoman said. Urlacher is believed to have been penalized for grabbing the face mask of running back Clinton Portis and slamming him to the ground.
