Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
So two ex-Skins and two ex-Terps. Nice.
I'm actually rooting for the Raiders to succeed with Jason. A big part of that will be Heyward-Bey's development. With their excellent draft and the addition of Campbell for a pittance, the Raiders could be a .500 team next season.

Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
Man i've got a bad feeling that we could miss the playoffs at 8 and 8, but that the raiders will go in....I hope thats not the case.
Is Al Davis dead? The raiders are suddenly becoming too competent.... |
Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
The Raiders aren't getting into the playoffs. The AFC is just too loaded. The AFC East alone could produce 3 playoff teams. Besides, adding JC and Rock suddenly has people worried about the Raiders making the playoffs? C'mon.

I could see them being 2nd behind San Diego. I don't expect that Denver or KC will challenge much this year, and, excluding our game, Cable seems to have Oakland buying in. I doubt they will win a playoff game, but with the AFC East battling to the bone, an easier division schedule could give Oakland a backdoor shot at a 9-7 wildcard. My crazy scenario which would be awesome (but unlikely) to see: Oakland v Redskins in a rematch of SB XVIII with the Redskins winning in the new playoff format when McNabb completes a 4th and 31, then throws a TD to Kelly after Oakland settled for a 35 yd field goal on their first OT possession. Final score Oakland 24, Skins 27, in Dallas' new stadium where cowboys fans held a mass Jim, err Jerry, Jones ritual right before the game. |
Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
I actually like KC's chances more than Oakland's. I don't think either will make the playoffs, but KC could rise up to 7-8 wins.

The raiders looked decent last year w/Gradkowski in. The skins game was an example of that. We blew them out when russell came in. I don't know that everyone is saying that JC & Rock are going to boost the raiders chances, I think their draft is generating some buzz here simply because they got two OTs who we'd talked about for months. As a result, the raiders might be on their way to being one of those sleeper teams people pick during training camp. Bruce Campbell made a name for himself in the combine & I too wanted us to take him in the 4th, but he's still a workout warrior until he proves otherwise. The Mcclain pick was surprising but still good. The raiders I think are a .500 team at best. |
Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
I'm confused, do they think picking up Cartwright is going to help JC? They do realize he's a crappy RB? They would have been better off with Betts.

They probably got him more for his kick returns than RB. Plus he's a solid locker room guy, Oakland needs that. |

3 Skins too. Shaun Bodiford was here for a minute |

He could just be JC's personal bodyguard against the Raider fans. They're set at RB with McFadden and Bush, although losing Fargas if he signs somewhere else will hurt. |

Who? :oink: |

He was a young WR we had in 2007. He didnt make the final team. He had blazing fast speed, faster than Moss, and was a beast on KR. But with the team already having 6 WR's, something had to give.... |
Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
both were true pro's while in D.C good luck to Cartwright and Campbell

Re: Rock Cartwright to join Raiders
Seemed to me like Rock did a lot of complaining his last couple of years here. Wish him well in Oakland though
