Re: Redskins' new faces mean competition for jobs will be intense
You keep pimping those Philly WR's, is this what you're in love with?
Jackson: 62-1156-9 Maclin: 56-773-4 Avant: 41-587-3 I can think of a bunch of more productive groups than that, nothing wrong with that group don't get me wrong, I just don't get all the love for them.
Very solid group that is only going to get better. Jackson was in his 2nd year and Mac was a rookie. Kelly and Thomas can't even stiff those numbers. Not saying it's all their fault but when we see other young guys getting it done then it makes me wonder. Hell Crabtree walked off the street and came in contributed right away. I like that we're bringing in some competition at wr. |

He only had eight touchdowns of 50 yards-or-more which tied for an all time NFL league record. Jackson was also the league's top punt returner in 2009 and was second in the league in yards per catch. Yes he finished with only 62 catches, but for 1,156 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. In all, Jackson scored 12 touchdowns last season. Last year, Jackson became the first player in NFL history to be voted to the Pro Bowl at two different positions in the same year - wide receiver and returner. |
Re: Redskins' new faces mean competition for jobs will be intense
I thought I read somewhere that there was a mini camp soon, either this week or next? I guess the coach's will have their plates full trying to decide who stays and who goes by camp time.
Second, there will be be some cuts looming. If you include Carlos Rogers and Rocky McIntosh, plus the six draft picks, the Redskins currently have 88 players. They can only open training camp with 80
It also may stand to reason why they were not all that active in picking up UDFA's. EDIT: Never mind I found it. May 7-9. Found it in your "Key dates to remember." |

I was talking about them as a group. GusFrerotte has been pumping them up a lot lately, I was just saying as a group I don't see where they live up to the hype he was giving them. |
They were a lot more productive tha our trio now weren't they? Also I bet you would love to have Jackson and Maclin in burgundy and gold!!
Sure they were more productive, they were in a pass happy offense with an established coach/QB combo. I love Jackson don't get me wrong. |
