With Samuels protecting the blind side instead of a 41 year old vet, it will be better. Yeah, they've struggled, but it is nowhere near last year's O-line debacle. Let's see how they do once they get used to Ramsey playing behind them (in practice and a few games) before making any big judgements.

Ray Brown has been a guard for almopst his entire career and has been trying to play RT this year because - hold your breath here - he's the best they have now that Jansen is out.
Oh, remember when Vaughn Parker was signed and the word was that he was fantastic and how the Skins were so lucky and so smart to snap him up before anyone could get him? Well, let's just say that his contributions thusfar have been meager. Argue with that and I'll tell you that in reality the contributions have been ZERO. Thomas is solid at RG. If he gets hurt, I'm afraid that the dam will burst! No one playing center this year has been anything special. I guess Raymer is OK in that he doesn't make any realy blatant mistakes, but I don't think he'd get any Pro Bowl votes even if all the votes were coming from the Raymer Family Reunion Picnic. Matty, I plead guilty to giving Dockery heat on this board. I like the fact that he shed his baby fat in the off season and built muscle; that says he is coachable and dedicated. Now if he continues on that path, he can improve from where he is now - and he does have room to improve. When Jansen got hurt, I suggested here putting Dockery at RT because he is quick - even though he does not have much foot speed. It's too late to make that switch now but with Brown at LG instead of Dockery, things MIGHT have been better. Whatever. Samuels has been better this year than last year. That is damning by faint praise because he is still not nearly one of the top LTs in the conference. I understand the benefit of stability within a cadre of offensive linemen but I'm not convinced that this group is sufficiently talented to warrant "keeping them together" much longer than the end of this year. |
I wonder what the plans are for Wilson and the other guy (Molinaro?) for next season

SC,
Dockery is indeed inconsistent and has a ways to go before we can say he is a solid starter. That is even that much more of a reason not to put him at RT. Dockery moves about as fast as a turd comes out of my a-- and speed rushers would blow him (and out QB) up. He just doesn't have the quickness to play tackle in the NFL. As to Parker's situation, he's still recovering from an injury, just got here two weeks ago, and has barely unpacked his bags. So I don't expect him to make any conrtributions for awhile. We signed him, if memory serves me well, to a 2 year deal in part because we knew it wouldn't be beneficial to us to sign him to a 1 year deal given that he came mid-way through the season while nursing injuries. |
