The thread is new and improved, ah nevermind
Well, Haynesworth has become the new Jason Campbell. People are going to continue to bitch no matter what, we'll get moronic scenarios where he is traded, and all the team's fault will be pinned on him. So I guess we should be ready for a slew of bitching/PMS'ing rants. |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
Let's see how many members that were calling for his trade last month, jump on his bandwagon this month.

I doubt this will happen. We have many folks here that blindly hate a player, no matter what. That being said, it seems that Haynesworth is (finally) saying the right things, however he has a lot to prove and has a lot to do to convince Redskins fans to get behind him. While it is hard to just ignore what Haynesworth did, I do hope that this situation becomes old news fast. I would rather discuss the team in training camp and things like that, instead of hearing the same overused comments about what Haynesworth did, etc., etc. |

HA ! Now that's funny. I would never compare Albert Hanesworth to that waste of a roster spot. That's wrong. I wanted him out of here because he failed and in some cases outright refused to do some things that QB's,...well the good QB's do. Haynesworth, I want him here. No matter how the Haynesworth haters slice it, that bamma is a force. Campbell was and wanted to be just another dude on the team. That's enough for the Oakland Raider. I'm glad Al is here and I look forward to seeing him stop Brandon Jacobs on whatever and 1's again ! |

That's about 99.9999999989% of the board who wanted him out. |

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
brandon marshall started playing nice and it got him traded. Jason Taylor started playing nice and he was traded as well. Teams may not be very interested in Haynesworth now, but a training camp injury can change everything. If, for example, Suh suffered a season-ending injury sometime in the next couple of weeks, Detroits interest in acquiring him could change. The same goes for every other 4-3 defensive team in the league.

Both sides need to play nice if he were to be traded period. Haynesworth needs to show up, show that he can dominate, and that he wronged all his faults from last season. The team needs to show that they are working with him and that they are not desperate to get rid of him. Otherwise, we end up on the losing side of a trade. That being said, it is best for everyone if he comes, gets up to speed, and becomes the dominant player he was in the past. Both Shanahan and Haslett are pretty much saying that they want him to buy in to what they are doing defensively and it is up to him to do so. As far as Shanahan's comment of "we'll see" when asked if Haynesworth will be on the team...well here's the whole quote:
Asked if Haynesworth would be a part of the team in 2010, Shanahan replied: “We’ll see. We’re going to give him every opportunity to show us what he can do. Hopefully he’ll like the position that we play him in and he’ll give us everything he’s got.”
The ball is in Haynesworth court and he needs to produce period. |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
pending a conditioning test as well right? something tells me he'll pass, I mean Shanny was even willing to say that he looked in shape when asked
now let's see what they do with him... with maake recovering do they throw him in heavy at the nose? or do they appease him a bit and split it up with Green, Bryant, etc starting at nose?
I'm not even sure Green and Bryant make the team if Kemo is healthy. I said a few months back that I had a feeling PD would actually end up playing more at NT than Big Al, still have that feeling. |

After you said that I posed a question to him on FB but he never answered it. I remember when some reporter asked him where he felt he'd fit in on the new D he said "left defensive end." Though if Al isn't playing it much PD probably wouldn't be doing it much either. Any word that he's been learning it? |
Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
I for one supported AH I was not happy but the practices(can't remember the official name) were not mandatory, but when he missed the OTA's I got upset. All is forgiven if he plays like a BEAST.
Haynesworth to start camp as backup
ASHBURN, Va. -- Albert Haynesworth finally showed up for work -- and quickly learned the Washington Redskins won't be cutting him any slack. On the eve of the first day of training camp, Haynesworth ended his months-long boycott of the team by meeting Wednesday morning with coach Mike Shanahan. Hardly sympathetic to the plight of a player who recently received a $21 million bonus, the coach wasn't about to let bygones by bygones. Shanahan said Haynesworth must pass a conditioning test in order to practice. And, assuming the test is passed, the two-time All-Pro defensive lineman with the $100 million contract won't be practicing with the starting unit, at least not right away.
Gotta love Shannys approach on this one. Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
Well, at least camp is just about here so they can get to practicing and shut up about all the rest of the BS.

Re: The new and improved Haynesworth thread
This whole Haynesworth saga has drawn far more attention than was ever neccessary from the beginning. The guy didn't kiss-up, he stood-up for what he felt was his right. His decision may not have been a popular one, but it was his to make.
Now that he's reported and appearently in shape and ready (I hope to play) the vibe is beginning to take on the tone I fugured it would once he showed up. I hope he has a great season, especially after being drug through that media mud. I want to be a witness to what all the critics have to say then.
what are you talking about? How does AH standing up for what he think is right account for the fact that in actuality, what he did was not right? His decision was not a popular one because it was wrong. Don't forget, it was mandatory that he show up b/c it was specified in his contract. |
