I think this was more about organizing the Parking Lot. Political threads have been growing enough to the point that apparantly the mods felt it would be best to have its' own forum. It's not about shielding the discussion from those who don't want to see it, it's just about growing demand for political discussion and the need for it to have its' own forum.
