Re: What Unsigned Player Will Hurt His Team The Most?
Thanks Dirtbag, Can you make this a weekly thread... This week in NFL Fashion or something. Perhaps you can find a correlation between holding out and the type of socks a player chooses to wear? Or perhaps the favored accessory when a player gets scoped? Oh the possibilities!

Re: What Unsigned Player Will Hurt His Team The Most?
A good argument may be made for all 4 guys. I went with McNeil because I think his replacement, Dombrowski, is the greatest dropoff. With Rivers on his back the loss of VJ will make no difference.

Regarding the Jets' staff looking like bums....what else would you expect from a team that plays in New Jersey? Thank God Rex Ryan isn't taking the guido route.

Re: What Unsigned Player Will Hurt His Team The Most?
Derrelle Revis is the best player holding out but the Jets defense is so good they can play well without him. On the other hand, Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeil are killing the Chargers. Vincent Jackson is the big play receiver that David Rivers need and you can never underestimate the value of a left tackle in the overall scheme of an offense. Who is Logan Mankins?

Re: What Unsigned Player Will Hurt His Team The Most?
While it's true Revis is one of best, mabe the best out there. It's also true that Rex Ryan is one helluva defensive mind and will work around Revis' absence on the corner. Basically Revis' shut down skills allowed the Jets to be more flexible and scheme differently; throw different looks at opposing teams. It's the NFL and good coaches adjust, bad coaches suffer. I don't think it's a deal breaker by any means.
An offensive tackle protecting the blind side of your star quarterback can be very disruptive and Philip Rivers will miss his starting left tackle more than he'll miss Vincent Jackson. It's just one of those positions you need talent and adjusting can only do so much. In my opinion, besides the quarterack position, left tackle is the one position where you'll see the biggest drop off from starter to the player backing him up. |

Has to be Revis. He's the biggest piece on the list.

No kidding. I don't even know what the heck happened there. I just saw it and wondered who would be the first to call me Firstdown. |

I know it's only 1:30 PM, but should you be in the Drunk Thread right now? |
Re: What Unsigned Player Will Hurt His Team The Most?
Definitely Revis, then Jackson behind him.
