Re: Team with big expectations most likely to implode in '10?

Here are my teams...

1. Cowboys: If their offensive line continues to have problems.
2. Minnesota: Favre's age will catch up with him.
3. New Orleans: Will probably put a lot of points, but many not have the same success.

As far as the Jets, I'm kinda torn on them. They have a sick defense, and I think their success will depend on their running game (and how productive LT can be as a backup).

I'm with those who are skeptical about all the hype surrounding the Jets.

I'm with those who think that the Cowboys ancient offensive line could be their undoing.

The Vikes may have a harder time than people think, especially if Adrian Peterson gets hurt and Favre finally manifests his age.

I think that the Saints are loaded but last year they had many things luckily go right. This year may be tougher for them.

Dallas is the annual answer and they rarely disappoint.

Minnesota's WR injuries would play a huge role in them falling short of last season's success.

Baltimore's secondary issues and uncertainty about Ed Reed should help them finish behind Cincinnati.

I don't think Sanchez will blossom like others do, plus they brought in so many bad personalities (Holmes, Cromartie, etc.) that I think the locker room will just blow up in a Dallas-like implosion.

The Patriots will look very vulnerable with an aging O-line, missing Mankins.

Kolb the savior in Philly? Not a chance. They'll be battling NJ for the basement in the NFCE.

The 49ers are solid all over the roster, except QB. They should still win the weakest division in the NFL though, but the postseason won't be pretty for them.

I think Houston will take a step back without Kyle Shanahan...and still no solid RB.

Annually I have little faith in Wade Phillips or Norv Turner living up to the hype that follows their teams every year. Whether either team implodes, I don't know about that tho. I expect both to either miss or be one and done in the playoffs.

I think the Jets Defense will lash out at the offense by the middle of the season, and the team to have some kind of major turmoil.

I want to say the Saints, but they seem to have their heads on straight so far, and a pretty good focus, so while they may not win the SB again, I doubt they will fall short of the playoffs.

I don't think Gregg Williams' defense will allow the Saints to falter much this season.

They won't repeat, but they should still remain one of the better teams this year.

I didn't list SD because I don't think they are expected to win it all this year. They should barely beat out Oakland for the division, but they're no 14-2 team.

I feel like the Jets will be like the Cardinals. Two years ago, the Cardinals won their division at 9-7, got hot at the right time and came within a couple of inches of winning the Super Bowl. Last year, they finished 10-6 and even had a better defense (stats wise). Yet they were out of the playoffs early. I think the Jets will have a similar year, possible 10-6 season with a better offense than last year but out of the playoffs early.

Speaking of the Cards I know alot of people are down on them, but I still see them as a strong contender in that division. Not sold on the 49ers just yet.

Once they get John Skelton into their starting lineup, Cards will be just fine :)

I thought the Cards would be good enough with Leinart being a game manager, and Beanie Wells' career taking off to compete for the division title. After seeing Leinart (and Anderson) on Monday night I'm less confident

Yeah Leinart looked shakey and DA looked like, well DA. But it's still early. Leinart seems like he just needs to get some confidence going.

They might as well play Skelton. Leinart has proven over and over he's not a starter...Derek Anderson is better than him, only slightly...but he's a Cleveland Browns reject.

If things start to fall apart, which they probably will...throw Skelton into the mix.

I'm going with the Vikes.

A hobbled Brett Favre, no Sidney Rice for half the season, and who knows if Percy Harvin can endure those migrains for an entire season. They lost Chester Taylor during the offseason. Sure they drafted Toby Gerhart, but will he compliment Peterson running and receiving the way Chester Taylor did?

I'm very interested to see what AP does this year. I think he's still a 1500 yd back, but more in the style of Clinton Portis and less break away TDs. Peterson experienced a drop off in YPC for the last 6 or 7 games last year. I wonder if all the pounding is starting to catch up to him.

I think they are a 9-7 team this year.

I think people are down on them because they don't have confidence in Matt Leinart. Many feel Curt Warner was the heart and soul of that offense and without him the Cards will struggle. Whether their beliefs' hold water remains to be seen.

Houston - Loosing Kyle Shanahan and a tough schedule will be to much to overcome unless their defense can step up. Plus Tenneessee is poised to reclaim the number 2 spot in that division.

New Orleans - Madden Curse lol

Minnesota - Adrian Peterson always seems like he's playing on borrowed time. Brett Farve has admitted that his ankle isn't exactly 100%, a far cry from the shoulder surgery from last year that had him feeling great. On top of that Sidney Rice is out for half the year.

Jets- They're a talented team that most importantly played well in the playoffs. However at the same time they should have been 8-8 last year instead of 9-7. No way do they beat the Colts during that 14 game win streak. Plus they have so many new pieces in place and Sanchez isn't seasoned yet. Their success depends on how well Sanchez plays. Anyway some teams need to play better in the postseason the Jets need to find a way to win in the regular season.

St.Louis - The Greatest Show on Turf isn't what it was. Warner is washed up and Faulk just retired. Hopefully Bulger can pick up the slack.

I think the Broncos losing Elway could hurt more

Vikings and Dallas, the Jets defense will keep them in every game.
