They scored 27 points. It used to take 3 games to score 27 against good teams, I like that it seems like they can score points. Plus they are entertaining to watch, the last few years were painfully boring to watch a team be almost incapable of scoring.

^^ The vast majority of the noteworthy positives from the game have already been pointed out, the fact we experienced that late game meltdown on defense should not overshadow them. Yesterday's game highlighted both our strengths and weaknesses.

I tip my hat to the Texans, they came into our place and [with a little help from us] played the majority of the game coming from behind and did enough to win. In defense of the defense [notwithstanding personell issues] fatigue, coupled with the belief they had the game won before actually winning it contributed to their downfall. Could it be we just couldn't stand prosperity having a sizeable lead late in the game, a situation all too uncommon to us?

This was one of those games where the outcome leaves you with mixed emotions, so many good things, [seemingly enough to win] enough bad that it's causes you to lose.

There were a lot of positives. The one thing that really stands out is that Kyle and his dad know how to design and run an offense. When was the last time we saw roll outs, play action roll outs and the QB throws back across the field? I don't think I've seen that since Gibbs 1. So very happy about that. I also like that McNabb isn't afraid to take some chances. Even though the 3-20 was called back, at least we now have someone who has the confidence to make that stick throw.

It was awesome to see us throw the ball like that. Really, really impressive. The playcalling was just sick. I was really pleased. When we were up 27-10, I was like, "what team is this and what did you do with the Washington Redskins???" But then the Redskins we all know showed up late. :madani:

We had 5 sacks. 5! Although we had some defensive troubles, you have to like the pressure that we put on Schaub most of the time.

Agree that 5 sacks is awesome. But not at the expense of allowing 500 passing yards. IMO we should have backed off of the blitzing a bit once Schaub started molesting our exposed secondary.

My postives are very simple and from a big perspective. We are 1-1. When I looked at our schedule, I thought after 2 games against Dallas and Houston we would probably be 1-1, but the best thing about being 1-1 is that our WIN was against Dallas, in division and in conference, which matters SO much more than losing to the Texans.

Here is the best thing however, Dallas has to play Houston next week!!!! The Texans are about to be 3-0 and the Cowboys 0-3.

We look like a professional football team in the NFL for the first time in a while. Even in a loss, we were doing the right kinds of things. And, for what it's worth, this was a fun game to watch, but for the ending. There's something to be said for playing exciting football!

Finally, there's enough optimism about this team, even in a loss. I feel like we're on the right track. It's partly DMac--wow--but it's the coaching staff and FO as well. Now let's use this to grow.

Yes, Landry is on fire now. This is the guy that we all thought we were getting when he was drafted. Obviously, he fits in this scheme. Hope he's ok along w/ TW.

McNabb was great yesterday. Just not enough OL at the end of the game.

Our zone coverage isn't exactly airtight, but a lot of that is because we were simply teaching the same players the wrong cues last year. As a whole, I think we're a little tighter in the secondary than last year, and improving.

Schaub threw for better than 9 yards per attempt in this game, and our defensive numbers are going to look horrible for the second straight week, but we were one Andre Johnson jump ball away from having a winning defense for the second straight week.

It's not a shut down unit, and it probably won't be until they can figure out how to fit in Albert like they've figured out how to use Landry/Hall/Rogers in the same secondary. But I think it's safe to say that the concerns about our [I]run[/I] defense were grossly exaggerated.

The players know and are willing to accept that they have areas to address. A far cry from the Caps' "don't know" and "hot goalie" excuses.

We made our mark in the trivia book AGAIN, as "Both quarterbacks threw for more than 400 yards, the first time that's happened in an NFL game since 1994."
