Nobody should have to be a whipping boy, but there is a world of difference in that and being percieved as a back stabbin' SOB, rattin' out the boss, etc. Behavior such as that will not be tolerated in any successful company

So the district manager and I had a conversation and apparently I am on the verge of a promo so I should wait it out until after X-Mas

not to be a downer, but can you trust the manager's responses. It just seems like a convenient way out of an unpleasant meeting by implying, but not guaranteeing any promotion. Then after the season is over, comes the classic "well it was never really a sure thing" line. Did he/she tell you specifics as to why you would have to wait? Was it part of a normal and written policy?

Just curious. hopefully, my cynicism is just in high gear today...

It's clear you need to come up with a diabolical plan to get him fired.

He came in to tell me that I was a good manager and if I was willing to take on a certain store that he had in mind for me.

Because you will NEVER be promoted during X-Mas time.

Yeah, that's like changing QBs in the NFC Championship game...don't change things in crunch time.

Oh yeah, plenty of times. I'd rather have a strict manager that's always on point because the "cool" guys will always have an excuse and use a scapegoat.

Game Stop isn't exactly known for having managers of the highest competency.. I mean just look at the typical demographic.

Re: F....Store Managers

My current store manager is relocating so I will probably get that store or wait 2 months and get another store.
