I guess one thing to think about though is if you're a star player on a football team and you've had a recent leg injury, then standing on the sidelines might not be so wise as there exists that danger of a play going out of bounce.

That's true. Though they could do like they do in the NBA where injured players are made to sit at the end of the bench or behind the bench to reduce the chance of a play going out of bounds and hurting them

I believe you have to have someone surveying the field in the booth it gives you a much better perspective overall on what the defense is trying to do, although Gibb's call's the play's suggestion's from above can be very helpful.

Now if we can only get our replay analist out of the toilet and into a booth we would be fine! :rofl:
