Re: Portis to re-sign with redskins, 3 year, 20 million
you got me for the half a second before I realized what day it was. Would have been more believable if you reduced the price.

Re: Portis to re-sign with redskins, 3 year, 20 million

Re: Portis to re-sign with redskins, 3 year, 20 million
Knowing how you feel about CP I would have expected a little more "venom" Snake. :soapbox:

Also would have been more believeable if he had added that the Redskins "agree in principal" to a new contract. |

Re: Portis to re-sign with redskins, 3 year, 20 million
I know there are still some die-hards out there who want CP to start for us, but the truth is the truth. Clinton's body has betrayed him, and at 30 years old with his wear and tear, it's like being 65. His mind says he can play still, and he probably has himself convinced that he can be a starter in the NFL. It's hard to take the athlete's mentality out of the athlete. I've mentioned this before, but in my line of work i see it alot with boxers who have fought for too long. They keep themselves in good shape, you watch them workout and every once in a while they show you something that they once were. It's when you see them get in the ring and spar with a kid half their age, that they really look old and gone.
I think Portis will catch on with some team as a live body in camp. Like Larry Johnson. He will look great doing the drills and stuff, but when he hits the field for real action, we will see him for what he is, an aging RB who is in the twilight of his career. Portis has more yesterdays than tomorrows. Much respect to him though, he had a decent career here, and i honestly can say that I wonder what he could have done here if he had been at 100% and the team had a good offensive line. Ever since 2007 he wasnt the same. I know ST's death took the wind out of him some, but he had nagging injuries and the skins were really horrible. Makes me wonder what could have been. |
There's no way Shannahan wanted this IMO. This has the stench of DS written all over it since he's his favorite player on the team.
Yeah, I bet your right. Cant believe this crap. |
