The game tape (for the JAX game at least) shows a pretty so-so DT in my opinion. He had a couple of plays where he just blew up the G/C lined against him but the nice thing is he never got straight up dominated even when he was double-teamed.

Thats what I noticed. Like he would always get partly pushed back against double teams, but that's bound to happen when you have two 300+ pound guys blocking you. The difference between him and Kemo is where when Kemo would continue to be pushed and driven back, Cofield would hold his ground.

The part I don't like though is he doesn't seem great at shedding blocks, even though ironically he's really good at using his hands. One thing I think people have to keep in mind though when watching these videos is on pass plays where it looks like he's doing nothing but standing there he's really being asked to spy the QB.

He can get a bit of a bull rush going though when he needs to.

Thing I love about Cofield though is his hustle -- man, that guy works hard on the screens; great to see from a big guy

It already feels like he's been part of the team for a while. Pre lockout was such a long time ago. And Dirtbag did do a video for him, it's just not in this thread.

I'm definitely excited to see what Atogwe can do for us this season. Haslett knew how to use him when he was in St. Louis. With Atogwe and Landry back there I think we might have the best safety tandem since we had, dare I say it, Taylor and Landry. Those 7 games they played together made me think we'd be set at safety for the next decade.
