Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
For some reason I keep thinking the Colts are going to get Luck. I mean having him under PM for a vew years like Roger under Brett would be deadly.

Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
I would be happy w/ Barkley. Should be an interesting game this weekend, USC vs Stanford, Luck vs Barkley.

Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
I will say this, if our season tanks to the point where we are in the running for Luck(3 or 4 wins), then I think it's worth the price to reach and get him. Once in a while you do need to be willing to spend draft picks, and the front office has shown great ability to recoup lost picks. That said, any more than 4 wins, and I think the cost gets to high to fast. I just don't want to be sitting here 2 years from now still griping about qb play.
For what it's worth, Moore, RGIII, and Tannehill seem to be the QBs we're showing the most interest in at this time...in reverse order of what I listed
What about Landry Jones? |
Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
Haven't really heard

But I mean it's October. Way too early to draw any conclusions

Right. So we're definitely drafting Tannehill. Got it. :) |
Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
there's always the chance that beck turns out to be a stud.

Exactly. Also, some people I've talked to have said they really don't think RGIII will come out this year. Same people said the same about Blackmon last year |
Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
I feel like we only have a 1/3 shot of trading up to get Luck. The way I see it, the 3 worst teams are Indy, the Rams, and Miami. If Indy or Miami get the first overall pick, fuggedaboudit. Why would they take some first round picks if both had the chance to take their qb of the future, one of the most elite prospects to come out in years I might add. If the Rams get it, well I wouldn't look into trading up for Luck so much as I would look into trading for Bradford. I'd be just as happy with Bradford as with Luck. But either way, if we did stay where we are at I'd love to see Robert Griffin III in a Skins uni.

Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
I think Luck is going to command somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 first rounders. A 2012 swap and two more 1st rounders or a 2012 swap and a first and two seconds. I'd send two 1st rounders easily but i'm sure other teams would too.
That is if the first pick doesn't just draft him. If it's Indi though they might be willing to sell to make a few more runs at the SB w/ Peyton. If they get 3 great picks they've got alot of options and they do have alot of needs. Same w/ St Louis. |
Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
No way we get Luck. RGIII for me.

Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
Can we draft Cam Newton?
|
Re: Official Andrew Luck Thread
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is what impact Luck himself will have on where he goes. The best prospect since John Elway, could pull an Elway and tell a team at #1 that he wont play for them. If the Redskins are in the top ten, maybe Luck would like to play for Shanny.
I asked an anonymous source close to the situation "What about Matt Barkley?" And the answer was "They're probably more interested in Charles Barkley. Matt's not really the type of QB they're looking for"
I agree. I don't want Barkley. The reason why he's soo hyped up is because he was the top QB to come out of high school in 09, he has a good arm, and he started for USC as a freshman. If he declares this year I don't want him. Please someone tell me the difference between him and Matt Leinart other than arm strength and left/right handedness. And this Tannehill guy, is not the answer. Never heard of him until now. He was a WR. Ok so that tells me he's mobile. Can he read a defense? Is he accurate? Does he have a good pocket presence? Does he rely on his feet a lot? Are his number that good because of the offense he plays in? I'll tell you two QB's I'd like: Nick Foles and Kellen Moore. Nick looks like Ben Roethlisbergers arm, with Matt Ryans throwing/accuarcy, and Tom Brady's pocket presence. Kellen Moore is the smartest football IQ-wise QB in the draft IMO. If he were 2 inches taller people would be all over him as a top 5 pick. His arm strength gets questioned, but he looks the part to me. They said Kurt Warner didn't have any arm strength, but he was really accurate which made up for it. I think Kellen Moore could be a lot like Kurt. |
