I'd say it was pretty significant news.

That's probably a bit much, but it was certainly big news. And sad news. Such a waste.

I was 12 when she sang that unbelievable national anthem, and I remember it so well.

I had already heard rumors of suicide. God, I hope not. She must've had some serious, serious demons that no one knew about if that's the case. This whole situation is such a mess. I feel absolutely horrible for her family and closest friends.

Really feel bad for her daughter. And hope that she doesn't go the way of her mom and dad. And that she will make it ok on her own. Thoughts and prayers are with her family! :(

Dude you just crack me up sometimes. Snoopy is one of the best animated characters of all time btw.

I'm not one bit surprised. Bobby Brown ruined Whitney Houston. I used to think of Houston as one of those music stars that had a squeaky clean image. When I found out she was on drugs, I had this uneasy feeling she'd never be the same Whitney Houston again - and I was right.

Alcohol + prescription drugs would probably do the trick. It really is a shame. Reminds of me of Elvis and Jim Morrison. (not that I'm that old)

kinda tired of people blaming Bobby Brown for Whitny's death. Kinda like when people blamed the doctor in michael jackson's death. these people were drug addicts, u use drugs you, can die

I'm sure it's the thought that Bobby is the one that got her using drugs. I think people were worried even when she started seeing him back in the 90's because he was the "bad boy" and she was the good wholesome girl.

Agreed.

It's not like he forced her, and she's been away from him for a while now.

I doubt you walk away that easily (if ever) from over a decade of abusing drugs. It's really sad to see. One of my co-workers lost it all because of his addiction to alcohol. Had a 80K state job, a beautiful wife making 120k, 3 kids, nice home......blew it all. Couldn't stop drinking and still can't stop, even after losing his job, his wife, pretty much his kids, his truck and license, and soon to be his health (just had a aneurysm). It's a sad story to say the least, but I suppose it's easier to say when those demons aren't inside us.

Alcohol and scripts is a deadly combination. Shame.
