Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Mark my words, a RB will be drafted by the Redskins in 2012. Weather or not we need one is irrelevant.

Very true, theres always a position or 2 that we draft even though we're filled up with them on our roster. TE, SS, OLB in years past. Any position is up for grabs in this years draft. I know BA said he drafts BPA and not position of need. |
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
BPA from round 3 until UDFA

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
If somehow we could package our third and one of our fourths to get him, I would move into the second to take OT Mike Adams. He could start quickly at RT.
Barring that unlikely scenario, I'd take: 3rd Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss - has Shanny speed and athleticism 4th Brandon Taylor SS LSU - a little undersized but has good speed 4th Audie Cole ILB NC State - good size, instincts, and athleticism 5th Danny Coale WR VA Tech - speedy, capable, and can add to our stable of Tech wideouts now that Royal has spurned us |
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
If we go after a running back I hope it's LaMichael James. 4.3 speed, soft hands and is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Pick players who have the best chance of sticking, regardless of position.
|
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Easy strategy. Pick the best man available unless he's a D-lineman or OLB...and I'd even take an OLB if the gap between him and the next guy is big enough. Don't trade up, we need more players, don't trade down, our quality of picks is piss poor enough.

Chris Rainey RB/WR/KR/PR/Kick Blocker |
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
^ I was high on chris rainey until i heard him interview at the senior bowl. He is a cocky lil chit whos attitude will draw unwanted attention in our locker room and though the media. No thanks.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
I think we do have a need at saftey but this class is very weak especially considering from the 3rd round on down. While next years saftey class is supposed to be one of the strongest in years, id rather try and get by this year and draft a strong safety in the 2nd next year. On the flip side this years CB and IOL are rather deep. I would prefere us doing something like this:
3. Casey Hayward CB/ Josh Norman CB 4. Phillip Blake C 4. Audie Cole ILB 5. Tauren Poole RB/ Bobby Rainey RB 6. Chase Ford TE 7. Adam Gettis G |
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
We only need ONE MAN after the first round. And that man is, *cut to character saying own name* Captain Insaneo

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
I'd be fine with Captain Insaneo in the 3rd-4th.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Chris Rainey RB/WR/KR/PR/Kick Blocker
Offensively, I would say the biggest need is guys who can make people miss, and then a close second is guys who can run block a little.
Biggest overall team need at this point is safeties who can cover better than I can. |
Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Best player available at S, CB, OL, ILB. I think most of us will be on the same page on this one. Hope the FO is too. We got RGIII we already won this year's draft in my opinion. Won't be missing ANY Skins games this year.
