Re: nfl top 100 2012
Why are people listing only current players? Isn't the top 100 an all-time thing? Where's the love for Sammy Baugh?

Re: nfl top 100 2012
This list is for current players, top 100 in the game right now
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
My bad. I remember seeing a top-100 of all time and was thinking of that.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Well look on the bright side, if any Redskins do make the list we'll know sooner rather than later simply because we know we already don't have any players worthy of top 50 consideration based on last year's play. Fletch should be on it, but since he's up there in years I would expect him to be somewhere in the 70-90 range.

I wouldn't put Jones or Cruz over Fitz, but I would put Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson in the same class as him.
Yea there definately the top 3 elite. But Andre is too injury prone to be put on the same level as Larry IMO, and Calvin just cant run the route tree like larry can. IDK, the heart larry displays and the catches he makes in big situations are incredible. |

So no big Al? Can't imagine this list without him. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Wow, you guys are disrespectful, putting Andre johnson, Julio Jones and Victor Cruz in your top ten over Larry Fitzgerald. Hes the best damn receiver in the NFL bar none. IDC about Calvin, Fitz has more heart and makes more clutch plays with horrible QB's.
P.S- Calvin Choked for me in Fantasy playoffs this year!!! But i honestly believe Calvin is not as good of a WR as Larry, he just cant do as many things as Larry, and larry is way better over the middle..WAY BETTER.
We are familiar with what Larry Fitzgerald can do on the field. On my list, I listed new WRs because of the impact that they had on their teams last year. Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, and Victor Cruz made it to the post season. Mr. Fitzgerald however did not. That was the reason why I excluded Larry Fitzgerald. |

Julio Jones was not even the best receiver on his team LAST year, as much potential as he does have. He is a beast and will be dominant. |

You're right. Jones wasn't the best receiver on the Falcons last season. Although a top ten draft selection, he was just a rookie. We saw flashes of what he can do and he did make some great plays last year. But in my opinion, Julio Jones is one of the best in the NFL even now although he didn't show it statistically as a rookie. He had only 59 receptions and almost made 1,000 yards. His 17.0 yard per catch was super productive even for a rookie. |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Fletcher made it. He seems to finally be getting some respect around the league.

Re: nfl top 100 2012
Some players are fading out. Ray Lewis and Terrence Newman are falling. Others like Victor Cruz and Alex Smith are on the rise.

Re: nfl top 100 2012
Top 10:
In Order: Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees In no order: Calvin Johnson Ray Rice Demarcus Ware Darrelle Revis Patrick Willis Arian Foster Julius Peppers *Peyton is obviously top 3 when healthy, but as of RIGHT NOW nobody knows |
Re: nfl top 100 2012
fletch and rak should make it, but neither will be above 80... that's it though.
|
Re: nfl top 100 2012
Any defender who has made the pro bowl more than once in recent years deserves to be mentioned. Fletcher and Orakpo could very well have their biggest years coming up this season. I count them both among the elite in the NFL.

Re: nfl top 100 2012
Ok, 80 more to go, Here's my prediction (I have 81 because I'm not sure if Jason Peters is eligible). This isn't who I think is the top 80 players in the league, but who I think will be voted in based off of the patterns of voting last year. Here we go! (P.S. the numbers mean nothing, there is no order)
QB. 1. P. Manning 2. Brees 3. Brady 4. E. Manning 5. Vick 6. Roethlessberger 7. Rodgers 8. Stafford 9. Rivers 10. Ryan 11. Flacco WR 1. Fitzgerald 2. C. Johnson 3. A. Johnson 4. Welker 5. White 6. Cruz 7. Bowe 8. S. Smith 9. Nelson 10. Hester RB 1. MJD 2. Peterson 3. Rice 4. Foster 5. McCoy 6. Forte 7. Gore 8. Jackson FB 1. Leach TE 1. Gronkowski 2. Grahm 3. Davis 4. Witten 5. Gates 6. Gonzolez OL 1. Long 2. Mangold 3. Pouncy 4. Evans 5. Nicks 6. Mankins 7. Waters 8. Clady 9. Peters 10. Staley ILB 1. Lewis 2. Willis 3. Mayo 4. Urlacher 5. D. Johnson OLB 1. Ware 2. Matthews 3. Suggs 4. Hali 5. Harrison 6. V. Miller DE 1. Allen 2. Babin 3. Pierre-Paul 4. J. Smith 5. Peppers 6. Williams 7. Abraham DT 1. Ngata 2. Suh 3. Seymour CB 1. Revis 2. Asumuagh 3. Bailey 4. Woodson 5.
