Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
hopefully Samuels will follow suit. As usual we should have plenty of cap room to do what we need to do.

Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
Anyone have any ideas what kind of money they are talking about with Samuels. I ran some quick calculations and just about any realistic way of restructuring seems to help the cap the next two years but then the cap numbers become beyond huge. We're talking like 15 and 16 million with signing bonus money of like 8 or 9 a year. That seems a little extreme. I am guessing they are working on just a one year extension or maybe not even a extension and just a salaray reduction for '05 with that money going into a new signing bonus.

Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
I've heard that Ramsey has also restructured but I can't find anything about it.

Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
Interesting to note I guess that Renaldo Wynn is the Redskins representative for the NFL Players Union and Jansen is the alternate rep...anyway just a bit of trivia for you union buffs out there

I knew that about Wynn but not Jansen, cool tidbit |
Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
This is beautiful. Now I have something to do today (not counting work).
I'll see if I can put some numbers together. |
Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
I think in samuels case its more of a contract extension that he wants, not to restructure.

Samuels
I think the problem with the Samuels restructure is he would probably stand to lose some money in a new deal. Maybe not overall but definitely on a per annum basis.
For Jansen, PR, Wynn, it seems we were able to just move some of the money around without affecting the total amounts. Samuels stands to make more in his current deal than he would on the open market. The Skins are probably trying to pay him at around market value, so Samuels has no real incentive to restructure. I figure the Skins will have to give him more than market to strike a deal, and that's the problem. |

Re: Jansen and Wynn have restructured
This is why Jon Jansen is so freaking great. Seriously, no one around here even talked about him restructuring, and who is the guy to step up and do it, Jon Jansen! Clutch for sure. Very happy too see Wynn has done the same, he is a solid guy, but wasent up to what we were paying him. Very good news from Redskins Park.
GREAT GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lavar Arrington is the one the media has picked to represent the Redskins, but the player to exemplify the Redskins, is really JON JANSEN.....he really loves the team and this shows it. He's a leader in the locker room. He has a great work ethic. Even during the draft when he was on the ESPN set all draft day........he talked positive about the Redskins and what they were trying to do to improve the team and genuinely sounded excited. He was so excited about playing for Joe Gibbs......and was so devastated over his injury...when sother players would just love to sit around and collect a check. He was sorely missed this season and I know he will come back ON FIRE to get our offense on track........ And of course Wynn plays for my favorite college team................. ;) |
