So he's officially gone or expecting to be gone? |
Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
At least Gano was young and inaccurate. Not old and inaccurate.

This about sums up the way I feel. |

#confused[/quote] yeah, I rather have The Rack...I dont think Rack even attempted a preseason game field goal, so its hard to say what was the issue. Im gonna trust Danny Smith on this one. |

Yeah Gano is pretty much the younger version of Cundiff when you look at their numbers. |
Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Ha...that answers my question...lol!

Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Neither Gano nor Cundiff has ever been a stud kicker...at least for a few seasons Rackers was a top-flight kicker. I mean this all played out...oddly.

Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Just when I think I'm starting to have some faith in the Redskins FO they do something really stupid. Did they watch the Ravens Pats game last Jan? That was a massive choke job. You simly MUST make that kick. I'd take Rackers over Cundiff.

Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
6. The best kicking leg in the league: whacked. You can look it up. Over the past two years, Billy Cundiff is a 90 percent field goal kicker inside the 50 (53 of 59), and no other kicker averaged more yards per kickoff (69.5) or had more touchbacks than his 84. But the Ravens, bugged more by his 1-of-7 from 50-plus in the last two seasons than his crucial miss in the AFC title game last January, cut him Sunday. They prefer to save $1.5 million on the cap and go with a four-year kickoff man from the University of Texas, Justin Tucker. Risky move for a Super Bowl contender.

Well automatic inside the 50 is comforting. |

By win I meant be cut Wow.... |
Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
2 things..
1. Cundiff is pretty much automatic from inside 50 yards, which Gano was not. Cundiff is an automatic touchback, Gano could boom them as well but also had the propensity to kick it out of bounds in a poor attempt at a directional kick. Cundiff was considered a top 10 kicker, Gano was bottom third. It's an upgrade. 2. The fact that we are bemoaning a kicker move and the fate of Graham Gano speaks volumes to how stable and sane this offseason has been. It's nice to go into a season with little to no drama for once. |

Very strange. As Chick Hernandez said on Twitter, only the Skins could make drama out of the kicker's spot. |

Relax guys...if we're needing a kicker who's going to have to kick a lot of 50+ field goals, then that means the offense isn't as effective as it should be. |
