Looks like Orakpo might be gone for a while. Do they bring someone like Markus White back from the TB PS? I say this cause he has experience with the system/Redskins and like him too. |
I think they should've let Griffin go for it. Cundiff is horrible from beyond 50, and we all know 60 is even worse than 50. They were basically saying the odds of Cundiff making a 62 yarder are better than the odds of RG3 getting the first down on 4th and 16.
Agree with you. I think we had a much better chance for a first down over the FG. Obviously, Shannahan hasn't looked at the statistics for Cundiff on 40+. |
Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
The Good:
RG3 Bowen Fletch Bomb to Mr Hanky Alfmo The Bad Refs Robinson letting that pass bounce off his f*ckin chest when we needed it most Silverblunt got beat bad several times Polumbus is a f*ckin disaster at Tackle Banks fumbling out of bounds, every week its something with him Haslett not making any adjustments Morgan the Ugly: Muther****in blocked ****in Punt AGAIN. No excuse and a fire-able offense at this point |
Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
I think I"ll just add my Duds and Studs here. Dud's are going up tonight and I'll do my studs tomorrow at work.
Duds: The Refs- I'm not one to really complain about officiating or they they are biased, but this by far is on the worst called games I've ever witnessed in my life. The previous worst was the Eagles/Baltimore game I watched prior...lol They absolutely let this game get out of control and become a thug fest. (as noted by this tweet)
Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell Darrel Young: "This is THE dirtiest game I’ve ever played in."
Jim Haslett - Horrible defensive game plan and adjustments (or lack thereof) for the Rams offense. Haslett was out coached big time today. He allowed a average receiever to tie a NFL record in receptions in the first half alone with close to 150 yards. His zone coverages were getting ate up by Bradford and the Rams offense. They also allowed 7 out of 12 third down conversions. Horrible. Defensive Line- No pressure at all this game. Allowed Bradford too much time in the pocket to eat up our zone. Also allowed a 5.5 and 6.4 rushing average of the Rams two RBs. All this with the Rams having key injuries to their starters. They should have dominated the Rams OL. Trent Williams - guy was getting abused like a rag doll out there by Robert Quinn. Josh Morgan - nothing more to say here except a bone headed move that added to our loss today Danny Smith's Special Teams - Another blocked punt for the 2nd week in a row. He's moved from having FGs blocked to punts now. How many more times is this guy going to get a pass? He's been getting a pass since the horrible special teams play back when Randle El was here dancing sideways. |
Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
The Good - RGIII - He's a star and barring injury, he will be for years to come!
The Bad - Two blocked punts in two consecutive games. Unconscionable! The Ugly - Morgan taking away a great chance to tie the game. |

Best quote from the whole article.. "A loss just means they remain an inconsistent and flawed team, still." |
Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
RGIII is fun to watch win or lose. He probably had an average game today, but he needs more help from his teammates and the coaches i.e. play-calling.
We were out-coached today. Not just on special teams, our offensive and defensive coordinators were bad today (Haslett really bad, but Kyle worse than you think). Mike was right there with them. Today's game was reminiscent of the last two seasons in that it's hard to see us contending under the current regime. |
I'm sure people will miss this but Trent Williams played awful. I expected Polumbus to struggle but man the oline struggled today. I am disappointed in their performance.
Trent Williams had an up and down day. Robert Quinn is a great young pass-rusher who will be putting it on offensive linemen for a long time in this league. He beat Williams early on for a sack, but was held at bay for most of the rest of the game. Chris Long was the real terror, despite not actually getting a sack. Williams dominated Quinn on the ground. Shanahan used Williams as his bell-cow in plowing the road for Alfred Morris, who ran a majority of his plays to the left. It was disappointing to see Williams give up a sack, but I would not use that to categorize his day as playing awfully. |

- I would like to see our team act more like professional athletes, and less like street thugs. The scoreboard is the deepest wound anyone can show you.
Absolutely disgraceful how our guys let the chippiness get to them -- I am so sick and tired of DHall getting in everybody's grill. I understand that he is the professional athlete and I am just a fan and jawing is part of the game but why can't you just act like a professional, beat them play after play, and then celebrate when you make a really great play? and no offense, but his walk just does not back up his talk. And Josh Morgan needs to be severely disciplined for his actions -- he essentially cost the game. Also, RG3 is taking too many hits -- he threw his INT right after taking a big hit and I am not saying there is a 1:1 causality but there had to have been some lingering effects. |

Making us suffer through Suisham and Gano... |
Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
I wish I could find a video of the defense today, and the snaps. The one were it's 3rd and 5 and C. Griffin is playing a 15 yard cushion. He starts back pedaling before the ball is even snapped. Ended up 20+ yards off the LoS and the Rams exploited it with a flanker route to the RB. He got 15 yards before anyone was near him.

We are going to need to score a lot this year.

Re: Redskins vs Rams Postgame Thread
This was a game where we were competitive. A 3 point loss is nothing to be ashamed of. Plus the Redskins are putting points on the scoreboard more frequently than in the recent past. I feel good about this team.
|
So far my prediction that this secondary may break the league's, passing yards given up, record is right on track. Sheesh! Fletch solidified my choice for new jersey this game though, he is unreal.
