Re: How The Offensive Game Plan Is Put Together (John Keim Report)
Was there more content in the link than what's posted?
I got a chuckle from this paragraph: Wednesday: They’ll walk through the plays, then practice them and review them on film with the players. After the players leave around 4 p.m., the coaches gather to watch film of practice. By Wednesday night, Shanahan starts focusing on third down, short yardage and goal-line situations (the coaches had already presented their information to him before Wednesday). He’ll finalize their plays in these areas and McDaniel and Flowers once again stay up “all night” to draw up the plays for the players by Thursday morning. Their playbooks will have all the new plays when they arrive. New plays? Yeah we've seen some gadget stuff added, but how is the pitch and read option new week to week lol? Looks like defenses know what "new" play will be called before RG3 does... |

Re: How The Offensive Game Plan Is Put Together (John Keim Report)
"This is a stupid play. Why are we trying this? We cross it off and don’t call it."
Really? "I’ve always loved third downs." Really? |
Re: How The Offensive Game Plan Is Put Together (John Keim Report)
One can easily see why having continuity among your players and staff makes this easier. Familiarity and experience breeds efficiency. Everything becomes more intuitive...that's important when you're talking about the complicated nature of the multiple moving parts of an NFL offense.
May I kindly reminind everyone that all of this continuity and familiarity has netted us a losing record? However, I'm thankful that there is always a chance, in each and every game, and each and every season! And there is a big game today! |

That's some pretty heavy detail.

Re: How The Offensive Game Plan Is Put Together (John Keim Report)
what a great pic, keeps composure, powers thru the sack attempt, ball at thed ready, eyes downfield, all while keeping his mouthpiece in and shoving his thumb in the eye of an eagles player.......... whats not to love?

btw, just because he releases how hw comes up with the plays and the process doesn't mean its the best thing sincesliced bread...........but i'd be foolish to say the gameplan last week wasn't good, but their were definitely issues last week as well. we will see how they do on a national stage against a good defense today.

Man, thanks for sharing that. I'm a little late here but that was an excellent look at all the prep work that goes into the week before a game. Also great video SS, I've never noticed that about Kyle before but I'll be keeping an eye out for that in future games.

Interesting. I can see where each would have an advantage but as a QB I think I'd rather have him on the field too. If for no other reason than to exchange info face to face. Does Kyle have any assistants upstairs that can communicate with him about what he sees from upstairs? |
Re: How The Offensive Game Plan Is Put Together (John Keim Report)
Billick was a good coach in Bmore...but Great Sports guy since! Definitely one of my favorites (next to Lomas Brown) Very interesting stuff....
