DHall has 9mill due if we keep him next year. it's not going to happen, he's gone.
He'll restructure, he said he wants to retire a redskin when we got him |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
Wilson goes to the slot only if we have two guys better ahead of him. Hall was learning the slot and playing there some this year.
Right now he is our best corner and thats why he was playing D Bryant yesterday. We need two guys to jump ahead of him before he goes to the slot |

I wouldn't be sad to see Wilson or D. Hall go. As long as we could bring in some upgrades. (But I still like D. Hall.. Meh) It kinda sucks that Crawford doesn't seem to be working out and that Minnifield got injured. |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
That is where he is on the depth chart, and those with more knowledge about CBs in the NFL have him there. So as far as playing disciplined fundamentals he is our best guy.
A true number one cb and a pass rush and he is well served covering the second and third WRs on teams. That guy currently isn't on our team. I can tell you it isn't Dhall. He is intense, to a fault. His meltdowns emotionally are a liability. |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
Our secondary is not great, but there was no pressure and Romo got into rythm in the second half. We had to mess with his timing, and we didnt. It's not rocket science, they were bringing extra guys and still not getting to Romo. The dline gets way too much of a pass.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
Our best corner if he can recover from micro fracture surgery, will be Chase Minnifield.

Hasn't played an NFL down in the preseason or regular season...STOP IT. You are putting all your eggs in a basket of a player that is very irrelevant. You know this guy can be cut tomorrow and we'll never here about him again. |

for zero dollars? that only works if the team wants him, which isn't what i've been hearing. it's weird how people can rag on him for 3 years yet all of a sudden we've won 2 games and now we NEED him. I think both guys aren't showing well, but either one would be fine as a #2. we don't need both of them at their asking price though, not when we need to sign a real corner to actually do they job that they haven't been able to do. |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
If Hall keeps playing like he has the past 2-3 games.. Then I say we try to keep him. He's been balling lately.
Our defense could just need time to develop under the system. A lot of new faces around it. I remember Green Bay's defense was trash, but it's slowly gotten better with time. Not saying that could happen here. |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
way to much hate for Wilson ... he plays solid .. kind of reminds me of another hate CB .. Carlos Rogers ... how'd he turn out ? ... As previously stated, Hall and Wilson ARE NOT THE PROBLEM .. pressure on QB is .. we are playing much better with Williams, Griffin, Wilson, Hall, and Gomes all gelling

If we don't have 2 Champ Bailey's on each side of the field.. We are not good enough in Redskins Nation man. Welcome :) |

Seems like Haslett is running better blitzes to take advantage of other teams having to worry about our DL, but Cofield, Bowen, and Jenkins are our best passrushers currently. They're the ones drawing double-teams and still getting pressure. That they are the only ones doing so is not good.

cant count on injury prone players ie Laron Landry. |
Re: Josh Wilson #26
Chase Minnifield has potential, but the Redskins front office has to look past him. Richard Crawford hasn't played hardly at all since being scorched against Cinncinatti. If both of these guys were playing corner instead of D. Hall and J. Wilson, the pass plays against the defense would be for much bigger gains. Neither of these two young corners are ready for prime time. Crawford did have a great preseason playing against reserves but he's not hardly ready to be playing 1 on 1 coverage against the likes of Jacoby Jones, Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, or Jordy Nelson.
That said, the Redskins have some serious upgrades to make at CB in the off season. |

Nice post. It's true when the front 7 gets some pressure going we see the coverage is sufficient, and both Hall and Wilson create turnovers. They're smaller DBs and I think that's really the extent of their limitations. Still, I expect Hall will be gone next year. Someone will give him a significant contract IMHO and it probably won't be us. Looking at the current secondary starters and knowing Hall is likely gone, we'll need two new starters for 2013, one DB and one safety. I wouldn't count on both Merriwether and Jackson (law of averages?), so we probably need to get a starting caliber DB and safety in the off-season. |
