Xavier Nixon has all of the God-given size and athletic ability one could want in an OT. I would have been happy if the Skins had drafted him in the 5th or 6th Round.
I didn't know about his poor work habits. Knowing that, I'm even happier to get him as an UDFA because now I think his ceiling may be even higher than I had thought before. If he dedicates himself to working hard, he should succeed in the NFL and eventually become a quality starter at OT - maybe even sooner than later. Let's hope that going undrafted was a wakeup call and a motivator for Nixon. He could solve our RT problem if he wants to put in the work to do so.
Apparantly, this guy couldn't even bench 20 times...perhaps that is why people are questioning his work habits, at least in the weight room...being weak on top as a T will get you crushed at the NFL level. But if he can get serious, maybe he has a shot at making the squad...at best he is probably a practice squad guy...but his experience in the SEC is excellent...certainly happy they got a guy like this...but I don't buy that this was a 5th round guy, but wouldn't have been upset either if they drafted him there. |

Who births that many kids? It sounds irresponsible to me.

Families of Catholic background, or from cultures that expect manual labor to survive, ie agrarian societies, often had many many children so that they could help support the families. It's really only modern western society that looks as more kids as more burden. My dad was one of twelve kids, his parents were both 1 of 11's. 18 is high, but it probably is much more societal value than irresponsible parenting. Unless he's related to Cromartie. |

JJ was expelled from high school for bringing a gun to school and receiving stolen property. He was then kicked of the Sooners for misdemeanor gun charges. At Troy, he was kicked off for a couple of misdemeanor arrests and a "slew of team violations." Marvin Burdett should be a good one. Led the nation in tackles per game with 13.08.

i just realized the duggar family also does this. Also with J, also with 19 kids. Maybe the families know each other or share naming conventions? 19 Kids and Counting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Regardless, this kid has what could be great story of over coming poor choices he made earlier in life. I'm making him my camp hero, hopeful he'll contribute. |
