[quote=skinsfan69;1008418]I think Jacoby will get in one day. It's so well deserved. I just think all those videos of him getting beat by LT aren't doing him any favors.[/quote]

You do realize that wasn't Jacoby that playing that day. That is a common mistake most people make. I think you are right, people THINKING it was Jake that got beat has held Jake back from getting in so far.

There are plenty of videos where Lawrence Taylor is running right by Joe Jacoby and getting to Joe Theismann or Jay Schreoder. I also personally saw them on TV back in the 80's. Taylor did that to everyone but it seems that Jacoby was always starring in them.

You do realize he's not talking about the MNF Game where Joey T got his leg broke right?!!

The argument now seems to be that Clark doesn't have the numbers and a lot of receivers have passed him. Regardless of that being true my argument is if you compare Gary Clark's numbers to that of Michael Irvin, they are very similar. And the fact that Clark not only scored in 2 SBs, but has two rings.

Howabout Jerry Smith, he had insane numbers in his era. He doesn't measure up to todays TEs, but it was a different game then.

IMO Joe Jacoby should definitely be in the HOF, hopefully he gets in soon...

“The Redskins were our fiercest rival,” Parcells said. “You know the players from their team almost as well as you know your own players. Joe and [Hall of Fame guard] Russ [Grimm] and [Hall of Fame receiver] Art Monk and those guys earned my respect just by virtue of the competition they provided for us. Joe was certainly up there among the very best. Joe had a lot of toughness and he was a pretty smart player. We had difficulty fooling him. There were some very, very good speed rushers back then, and Joe did well against them. And he was pretty good in the running game, too. Joe was a very, very critical part in the championships [the Redskins] won.”

Giants outside linebacker Lawrence Taylor, who basically redefined that position into a pass-rushing spot, was quite the challenge, but Parcells said that Taylor “made it hard on Lawrence,” something that LT told Jacoby at a golf tournament a few years back.

I also really hope Dexter Manley gets into the HOF, from what I've read about him and seen of him he seemed like a dominant player. For those of you that watched both Dexter Manley and Charles Haley play, who do you think was the more dominant player between the two? And who do think is more deserving of the HOF?

Gary Clark was the toughest receiver I've ever seen, he loved going down the middle didn't mind getting hit and wasn't a pussy like say Jerry Rice who always ducked. He always made the Madden toughest player awards for a reason, even Madden used to say he was the toughest. Loved Clark!

Just check how many times Gary made the all Madden team starting 1986 into the the early/mid 90's

You're right. Gary was a very underrated player which is why he hasn't been considered for getting into the HOF. As I said before, he has the numbers because his career stats compare evenly with Michael Irvin's career stats.
