Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Just like you said about Harbaugh. Darrell Bevell is another bright guy.
I get it. I said I didn't think it was a guarantee Harbaugh would be a good pro coach, so now I have to just accept that any HC from Northern California or former Redskin would make a great HC/OC/DC. Understood |
David Shaw at Stanford is considered the next big College Football Coach to go to the Pros. I think we should go for Art Briles only because he knows what he's doing with Robert.
That's a great idea -- Baylor's offense is lighting it up right now too. I'd love to see us move away from the freaking draw play on 2nd and 14 and become a team that more closely resembles air it out offenses. |

They just happen to come from Stanford, don't tell me Roman or Shaw haven't proven themselves. Pep Hamilton is doing a great job with Luck this year also. |

I'm not sold on Roman as a HC. I know, I know. Harbaugh. And maybe I'll be wrong about Roman too. So be it. I love David Shaw. He's a brilliant coach and a friend. And I've asked him about the possibility of coaching here.... |

He talks like it, at least. I don't know if he's necessarily the best fit here, but I think he'd work his tail off to get this team on the right track, and would allow Bruce Allen to bring in (or promote) a real pro personnel guy to take over football ops. The organizational structure would be a lot stronger. |

He doesn't talk like someone coming back to the NFL very soon when the cameras aren't rolling. And there's no indication he wants to come here, or we want him |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Well if Morris is even on the short list you give him the reigns now IMO. Bad coaching and leadership can do real damage. You can't even scout players when the play-calling and adjustments (lack thereof ) are this bad.

OC- Gtripp DC - Punch it in ST - John Madden We would have the best couch coach squad in the NFL.. So elite! |

I'm undecided about him, which is a weird thing to be when someone was employed as a GM for nine years. Usually that's enough time to build a solid reputation. But SD is a weird market to try to win in. Looney toons ownership, and D-minus facilities, and lacking tradition, all that jazz. I'm already surprised that Shaw talks like he does when the camera's are rolling, given the perception that being evasive about future employment opportunities may hurt recruiting. I think it's perception, not reality, but it definitely bucks the trend of saying that "I'm here forever." Maybe Shaw's just a really honest guy who isn't going to say stuff that he doesn't believe about Stanford being the only coaching job he ever wants. I don't know. |

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Well, I like the idea of up and comers and won't complain one iota if that's the outcome, and the sooner the better. But there's some retreads I'd welcome: Morris (if we do it now), Lovie, and my top choice is Gregg Williams. I think he is one of the rare breads who will thrive in DC.
Anybody else like to know who SS things has best chance for HC? |

That's a shame. Tennessee has one of the best defenses in th nfl this year and Gregg Williams will run the cleanest team in football if given the chance. |
