Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread
Rak is the best player on a terrible defense. I know we all like him, but he can't be paid like an elite player. If we have 30-35 million in cap space he could eat up almost one third of that. I hope the Redskins proceed w/ caution here. With as many holes as we have, and w/Jackson and two pass rushers on the bench, I wouldn't be afraid to let him walk.

Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread
What about Brandon Jenkins? Could he step in with help from Tapp and Jackson and do the job? I'd make that gamble and fill other holes ...o-line, MLB and a safety.

Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread
Should we re-sign Orakpo? Yes.
Will we re-sign him? We have so many needs that I think it's very doubtful that we'll be able to re-sign him and still address other needs. So, no. |

Gotta be the best player available at any position of need in the early second round. I'm betting that we sign a RT candidate in FA. |

Thats what they said about Brandon Spikes amd Luke Kuechly. |
Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread
Honestly, Rak is going to flourish in either a 3-4 OR a 4-3. Have to say, it's been pretty impressive watching him get his feet again. Last game was the first game this season I felt like Kerrigan truly benefited because of Orakpo's presence.
We have the money, why not pay the man who has kept his mouth shut, and been a great member of this team. He's not elite, and maybe never will be, but a team can't have enough "very good" football players. |

H-m-m-m-m-m. I may need to rethink that, then. |

I just don't see the logic in letting above average, home grown talent walk, and creating another hole that needs to be filled. This team is rarely successful at signing 'value' guys and getting them to perform above their pay grade. What's wrong with stabilizing a position with a known commodity that gives you above average production? If the other option is rolling the dice on an upside guy just to save some money, I'd prefer the known commodity. Otherwise, you end up getting stuck with Doughty and Wilson as starters, rather than Rogers and Landry. |

Amen. Not to mention Burfict who is leading the NFL in tackles I believe? |

He's a quality guy and always provides a little bit of a spark when he comes in. |
