There is no way you pay Baker 8-10 million per year. He just isn't that type of player. To me he's around a 4-5 million dollar player and not a dime more.

I'm also in agreement with drafting a TE, although I'd try and bring Davis back for depth. But we need another young stud traditional TE that can freakin' block and knock some people off the ball. Reed is just too soft in the run game.

Garcon at the right price is a person that I'd bring back. But not at 7 or 8 million per season.
While Chris baker is better debate at 8-9 million per, I think if we let garçon get to free agency it could be a competitive market.

Baker is 29 he's worth keeping for another 4 years. Kirk isn't even a Q and garcon is a must keep

If Cousins starts demanding this kind of money, I'd let him walk.

Wow. @corryjoel suggests on open market Kirk could potentially get $26.5+ mil per yr... $90 million guaranteed. Id want to leave too.

No one is paying him that kind of money.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

Regardless of these interviews, I think Cousins wants a long term deal with the Redskins. I'm going to wait until the climate calms to throw a specific number out there but we have the cap space.

It's in Cousin's (and more specifically his agent's) best interest to generate some buzz about him leaving. Having a public campaign makes the Redskins look bad if they don't give him a legitimate deal. It's extra leverage on the negotiating table, and the next few weeks/months expect it to heat up.

Thinking about Redskins needs, one thing that stood out was Breeland played much better in the slot down the stretch. Probably should keep him there.

I guess we will role with Fuller on the outside? I think we should probably try to draft someone there as well.

49ers have money and picks, would not surprise me if Kyle ends up here.

I can't imagine we would tag and trade. How many firsts would that give us?!
I'm sure they would like to keep him, but reality is he's a backup tackle on the wrong side of 30.
They would love to have him back, but he will get mid level starter money from someone and he is not worth that to us.

However much I want to keep Cousins, if its more than one I would do it.

If they do the transition tag and someone claims (essentially trades) for him it is two firsts.

Interesting. I'd have to think long and hard, but I am also on the side of the fence where the man has broken franchise passing records twice. You see what the Rams are doing with a lot of first round picks and shitty QB play.

Good article. Vernon Davis and skins have already talked new deal? Interesting to hear they would let baker walk...the fact garçon wants at least 7.6 per year isn't a surprise, that's the going rate for starting WR- pay the man

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

So you guys would really want to trade the best QB we have had in a while for some unknown draft picks?

I think this is nuts if we don't bring him back.

The last time we had a QB we could have any kind of confidence in was Brad Johnson in 99 when we won the division and actually looked pretty competent. Then we go out and sign Jeff George after that season and set our franchise back down the toilet.

This franchise needs to just pay the guy and keep building this thing. We don't have a QB. Do we really want to sit around and wait another 2-4 years to develop another guy and muttle through 5-7 win seasons again....

That is just stupid. With the bump in the cap and at a 23 mil deal the percentage that Cousins would take up is around 14.4% which is lower than the percentage he took up this year. IF we start over at QB again Jay will be looking for work in a year and this team will be back to ground zero all over after finally putting together two seasons in a row with a winning record. Cousins will only get better here, but starting back with a rookie makes me want to vomit.
