Re: Stock UP; Stock DOWN
The only thing I'm really worried about is the fundamental way our starting offensive line is getting pushed back. Them not picking up blitzes, etc., I can get over that because they didn't game plan for those. I'm slightly concerned with ZERO push being generated by anyone (including Scherff :().
For stock up, the starting defense really does look to be vastly improved over last year. |

People were saying this Oline was on the way to being one of the best in the NFL....not so fast. They have been handled in both games thus far. I'll give them the Baltimore game...first preseason game, on the road, who cares...but Saturday night they didn't look any different at all. If they look the same in the 3rd game, then you have to start thinking that there's a problem. These guys supposedly love to run block, and they're getting pushed straight back. If it's truly just lack of interest, like some are suggesting, then I think that's a problem too. |
Dude. Chill. You're comparing Cousins to one of the better QBs ever. Who has also played nearly a decade longer and has honed his craft with a stable team, good coaches, strong supporting cast, etc. Cousins has been very good the last two seasons. And he will be this year too.

- Phil Taylor Stock Down: - Lauvau ... same thing for 3 years now. - Callahan ... I know he is supposed to be a coveted specialist, he has the O line group as first one on the field, last one off but our run game has disappeared since he got here. Him not wanting to use a FB and Gruden cottowing that has really costs us imo. We had one of the better FBs in the game in DY. He has the talent, we have committed a lot of $$ and top draft picks to the unit and there is very little turn over in personnel. I dont understand it. Guys getting pushed back, missed assignments etc have been killing the run game for years now. Address it. Its year 3. - Cousins ... this isnt a stock down thing for me and I believe in Cousins but last year when playing on the tag he was too quick to get rid of the ball and he adjusted half way through the season to take some risks, extend plays etc. In the brief time we have seen him this PS, it seems like he is quick to get rid of the ball/take a hit. Its PS, its fine, Id rather he get rid of the ball early in PS ... but come week 1 against the Eagles, he needs to hang in there and make plays down the field under duress, not just when everything is going 100% perfect on that particular play. |

I see him get blown off the ball constantly. Hoping someone can overtake him soon. |

I noticed Spencer long not getting any push either. Luavo needs to go. |

They can say they want to run the ball better (and that leads to running it more) but talk is cheap. If they really want to run the ball well, they need to use a fullback and they need to FINALLY GET A DAMN RUN-BLOCKING TIGHT END - NOW! Don't wait for Sprinkle to develop; pick up a TE who can block like hell, even if he can't catch a cold. Right now, we have four under-sized pass-catching TE's and one rookie. Two of those pass-catchers need to go in favor of a big, people-moving TE. We should be able to compete for our division title this season, so they shouldn't be screwing around with a weak running game. They should get a REAL blocking TE and a BEASTLY FB right away. BTW, Jay Gruden should tell Callahan that he doesn't give a rat's rear end about Callahan's run game philosophy and to just fix the run game NOW, whatever it takes. |

Last year he was our less capable offensive lineman. I was hoping Kouandjio would step it up and take his spot. |

I'll accept no push for now, but I rewatched Lauvao getting absolutely demolished multiple plays. We could definitely stand to upgrade both of those. Center I'm "OK" with right now. |
Re: Stock UP; Stock DOWN
Lauvau is terrible. I was really disappointed we did not cut Lavau and either picked up a FA guard or draft a guard in the 2nd or third round.
Long is not playing much better recently. I will add, I have not seen any of our TE's or Backs that are run blocking worth a damn either. We are so built for the pass that we have over looked the run. This has to change or else we are in for along season. Teams will easily defend us if we have no balance. This is not a running back issue or lack of a good one. This is strictly a blocking issue. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I see your point but Cousins wants to be paid like One of the top QB's and actually looks shaky. We will see how this plays out. |
Re: Stock UP; Stock DOWN
I even saw Scherff get too high on some of those short yardage runs.Let the defender get under his pads way too easily. Long too. I see that as entirely correctable by week 1 and I'm sure they will. Take it easy.

Re: Stock UP; Stock DOWN
i think the better step it up next game, cause i doubt they play the last pre season game.i still think they have just ran basic, vanilla plays though.

This needed to be addressed in the off season. You can't go out and bring in all new TE'S and a fullback at this time of the year. They're going to have to go with who they've got. |
