Agreed. We definitely don't need a separate thread for every speculated trade scenario. There will be many...I'm sure they can be discussed in the appropriate offseason threads.

I'm not sure this has any "legs" at all anyway. Randi Taylor speculating about a possible CY trade for DW, because Ben standig "suggested" that RR has such a need at QB that he would be willing to trade his best player?

This isn't even news. Of course RR would trade his best player for a franchise QB, but right now CY isn't even Washington's best player, and no one is going to touch DW until his legal woes are resolved.

No because of DW troubles. if I was going to trade any player of a QB it would be Payne - not consistent or Matty I - cant stay healthy and it might allow us to keep Settle for cheaper.

No one is trading away their legit franchise QB for a DT. Not even Darnold would get the nod. Would need at least two firsts thrown in

With all the scandals this organization is dealing with I don't see any way they can bring in a player with DW's baggage.

Payne is a nice player but he's not one that's going to get teams hot and bothered in trade scenarios. Teams are going to want a pass rusher, a potential impact player, not an interior DL. Young or Sweat and you could toss in Payne too. But Payne alone with picks? Zero chance that gets anything done.

Regardless of where he goes...I don't understand why his case is dragging out so long? Is he holding things up or the prosecutors? I know everything is pushed back and takes longer these days...but it's been over a year right?

I agree, but you could also say what's another kick to the groin for this franchise? They're always taking shots for something, deserved or otherwise.

On his own of course not, but if it saves future firsts in a trade for a QB then he has value, it is likely you would not get more than a 2nd rounder for him staight up. It has the added value of saving $10-16m /yr on the cap that would be needed for an established QB

We should trade Young and 2 firsts for a guy who could soon be indicted. And even if he is not indicted, he has some serious issues. This is a DANNY KIND OF TRADE' THE KIND THAT REEKS OF A NEED FOR ATTENTION.
