Sucks that Lattimore got hurt, you never want to see that, but that really doesn't do much as far as impact. He's having a bad year. You can put someone else in there and they can't do any worse.
Losing our two DE's has really crippled this defense.
DE and WR have been total disasters, injury wise. Armstrong was our pass rush. Now QBs puck us a part like it's 7 on 7. All day to throw. |
Re: Injuries, injuries, injuries
Didn't the Lions have their entire defense out last year? They were plucking guys off the street. They made the playoffs and still won their division.
The 49ers haven't had their starting QB the entire year. They have injuries. They lost Warner. They're still 6-3. Everyone has injuries so to me it's not an excuse. If you have them, do you have the ability to stay afloat, overcome them and still win games? Or do you fall off a cliff? We've done the latter. Not only that but we've become a team that's not competitive.
It’s not an excuse it’s the main reason why we’re fucked. Injuries will bring the best teams to their knees eventually. Everyone likes to point to the 49ers this year but what about last year when injuries wrecked their season? |
I’m going to stream every QB we face the rest of the way
😂 Not a bad strategy |

I have a feeling someone in this group did that last year, and now the devil has come for this team. Or maybe I am still in Halloween mode. |

This group has been together for less than 2. |

True but AP has made more than a few puzzling moves in his short tenure . Im not seeing a future John Lynch in the making. |

Losing our two DE's has really crippled this defense.
On the other side of the ball, terry being out has really made the offense one dimensional. With no receivers being a true threat, the D can concentrate on the run and pressuring the qb. Everyone is just stacking the box because they know the receivers are (basically) all 2nd tier. |

Maybe, but I still think AP is a talented guy. Lattimore didn't work out, but most folks on this site were probably pleased when we signed him. Tunsil has worked out. I think Deebo has worked out. Wise looked like he'd be a great addition before he got hurt. Armstrong was working out well before he got hurt. Will Harris didn't play enough before getting injured, so hard to tell. McCaffrey was showing some promise, particularly on teams, before he was hurt. Amos has shown promise. As has Conerly. I mean, I am not sure what AP was going to do short of getting rid of literally everyone from the Rivera era not named Tress Way (who actually pre-dated Rivera). Luvu made a pro bowl last year, although this year has been pretty crappy -- I have to think scheme is part of it. We've definitely had a few guys hang on too long -- Wagner and Ertz come to mind -- but both played very well last year but this year look like they've gone off the cliff. And the McLaurin holdout wasn't on the team -- I think his agent had him awaiting a deal that was never to (and did not) come to pass. It's not like these decisions have been all bad. And the injuries have been brutal and not limited to the old-timers either. |
Re: Injuries, injuries, injuries
AP if he struggled was with winning now versus building for the future
2022 Giants are a good example, they felt they had all the pieces Daboll won COY then thye trired t obake the cake at 900 degrees to speed it up |

good post, it was all a perfect storm i honestly think a full charged health Terry Deebo and Austin E would have been dynamic, i will argue he needed a better WR then noah brown a healthy offense would have hid the D better; long drives more points on the board etc Wagner and Ertz, father time just finally ring their door bell DQ with JD5 coming back from knee and hamstring issues this week to leave him in , IMO foolish Silver lining it probably keeps JD5 out this year and he doesn't recevie a injury that affects him long term |
Re: Injuries, injuries, injuries
Coming off last year of course AP wanted to take a shot at winning now. Most GMs would play it the same way. Especially while JD is on the rookie deal. I don’t think we’ll see a drastic change of plans in the offseason either with all the cap room. Re-load and take another shot.

Re: Injuries, injuries, injuries
Insult to injuries - Luvu suspended for a game for his 3rd hip drop tackle. Like the ones that guys keep using on Daniels. Sheesh.

What is it about the Seahawks and our QBs? I think we ought to use that as a little motivation for the next time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe we'd have more depth if we didn't trade for Lattimore. 😂 |
