2nd receiver would now seem to be Wilson.

"there ever any talk of "is this as far as Cowher can get us?".....MUCHO! As for Grimm, slim to none even though he's awesome coach and was an awesome lineman in his day.....man, those days with the hogs....hmm, hmm, hmm, my man, Joe Jacoby (sp) (f'n monster)!
Wilson, the former 49er? How do you feel about him?

What about Ken Wisenhunt (sp?)?

Wison has been looking great, from what I hear. Pitt and you guys are on here in NJ on Fox so I'll get my first look.

It's actually Whisenhunt, and I have a few things to say about this man.

When he took over the helm two years ago after his stint as the QB coach, I was like who and what hell is THIS guy?!?

Turns out:

1) He was a pretty good college QB

2) His actual IQ is supposedly is that of a genius

3) His ex-college football coach said that 'he's too smart to be a quarterback because he over thinks everything'

4) Learned that you DO NOT CHALLENGE THIS MAN IN A GAME OF CHESS....I loved reading that because aren't coaches in essence chess players with the players being human beings in football?

See I thought he played TE in college, I know he played a few games at TE with the Redskins.

Bingo!

Thanks for the correction. I did not remember that correctly. YES, he was the TE coach and played TE.

The stuff about his IQ and stuff is definitely what stands out with what I read about him.

Re: Good evening, Redskins faithful

on friday you may see a struggling offense and a weaker CB situation right now (due to minor injuries)... we're better across the board on O from what i've seen so far, hopefully we get from where we are to (at least) average by the time the season starts. our 2nd string D in't as great as i'd like it to be, but our 2nd string oline and down to our 4th string rb seem to be good, qb depth is solid now, but no one's blown us away... ramsey has the arm, but throws some gift ints (bad decisions), brunell looks healthy now and like a real QB, but hasn't played a 1st string D as of yet.

special teams is GOOD so far... massive LB and safety depth for teams, we've already got a blocked FG and above average returns, good coverage etc. last year we didn't have good personel an let people break big returns, were average on returns, fair caught too much (chad morton :P) etc.

Welcome Scrap,
Unlike some folks, I actually think Ben is going to have another strong season. One more year in with the team and he is smart and will learn from his mistakes in the playoffs. I have respect for the Steelers and the NFL is a better league when Pittsburgh is strong. Brings back the ole days of tradition. Now all we need is the Redskins back, the Eagles sucking wang, Dallas crying like little bitches and that will be more like it. Have a good year in PA.

I agree with your comments about Ben. I've been watching closely with his progress and love what I've been hearing/reading thus far. This comes from a Steelers fan who hated Kordell with a passion!!!!!!!

A personal comment to this board.......
Out of the years of visting opposite team's forums, I can honestly say that this is one of the most pleasant I've visited.

Again, good luck with your season and Goodspeed to all.

Not to upset the masses here, but his other thread brings up a bad time in DC. I mention the same kind of thing in Pittsburg and this guy goes after me personally. What a hypocrite to this thread I must say.

Mr predictions for the Steelers upcomming season would be 10-6 with another loss in the playoffs at home.

Also, what's you're honest opinion of the Steelers and their chances this year?

I’m looking for friendly feedback, not smack talk btw.
Give us back our Russ Grimm. And tell your 'challenged' equipment managers to put a logo on both sides of the helmet! :oink:

I think Big Ben will have a good year. One more year in the same system and knowing the playbook will help. But I don't see 15-1. Perhaps 11-5 or 12-4. Also, didn't they lose a LB via FA and another is out 3-4 weeks? Not sure.

As for the Skins I honestly think we can take 3 out of the first 4 games and finish 12-4 this year. BTW, I still think our D was the best in the NFL last year. Hail to the Redskins!!

A Hearty Redskin Welcome Scrapdog............Any team that beats Dallas 3 times in Super Bowls is a friend of the Redskins.

I love Big Ben..........and being a Notre Dame fan, I've always liked your RB Jerome Bettis.

I think the Steelers will take the AFC Norse....

Boller looked terrible....and we are the team to ask about how that translates to wins/losses when your team that has a good defense but poor offense and QB :rolleyes: Don't believe the media hype about the Ravens

Bengals are an improving team---but I just don't think they are quite there yet. I think Marvin Lewis needs another year and draft.

Browns have a long way to go to even challenge.......

GOOD LUCK TO THE STEELERS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!

Re: Good evening, Redskins faithful

Welcome Scrapdog.

As for the Redskins, I have my burgandy and gold glasses on, but latley I've been getting really excited aobut this team. I really think the offense is making some strides (if the Turnovers cut down) and I think with Portis we will be a much better team.

As for Pittsburgh. While I think they will defintley fall off from last year (I mean 15-1 is DAMN hard to do in this league) I still think they will be a very good football team. I think Baltimore is going to pose more of a challange than they did last season. But WORST case sceniro for Pittsburgh is the wildcard, I think.

thx gents for the greeting. again, I always liked the skins and as I stated already, the CowGirls and Feebles are a few of my most hated NFL teams, of course behind the Ravens and Browns (we call them Stains, of course).

monk81, to set the record straight, unfortunately the Steelers did not beat the 'girls 3 times in the SB.

SB1 = Pitt over Minn
SB2 = Pitt over Dal
SB3 = Pitt over Dal
SB4 = Pitt over LARams
SB5 = Dal over Pitt due to Neil Odonnell choking like a little bitch

My bad scrapdog......guess I was thinking about y'all playing them twice and naturally assumed a Steeler victory ;) Yes unfortunately now that you mentioned it, the Neil O'Donnell choke..............he was one Steeler I never cared for......
But always liked Lambert (QBs should wear dresses), Franco and his Italian army.....the Steel Curtain, Rocky Blier.........Steelers are a team with a great tradition too....

Live in Texas and we went to a Cowboys/Bears game in the Bears heydey......and on our row was a guy wearing a Lambert jersey....I told my friend....hey our backs are covered even though we are surrounded by Cowboy fans....Lamberts here! :)
