This should be a confidence builder.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
4-2 is a solid start, let's face it going to Denver and KC in back to back weeks is just brutal. I was really hoping for a split, but the only thing we can do is put those tough losses behind us and move on. There are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
I can definitely agree with that, I can handle going into NY 4-2, the losses were just tough because we should have won them. Very optimistic though with the play of the offense and hope the D can stop the big plays being given up. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I agree Matty but the problem I have is the way we played today. It seems like we took a couple steps backwards.Maybe the 9ers is just what we need to get some of that swagger back.
Look guys, our offense appears to be clicking pretty good (unlike they did last year against the Browns.) I have loads of confidence in Mark Brunell, Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, and Santana Moss. They'll get the job done.
Right. Yes we'll hear the birds singing the "LA song" but the "can't score TDs song" is a little played out.

I'd be happy if we go 4-2, of course it could be better....it could also be far worse, I'm just grateful we have the record we have. First three games could've gone either way....thankfully went our way.
I'd be happier being 5-1 and not underneath the cowboys.
So long as we don't finish under them, I'm fine. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
yeah all that matters is the record at the end of the year. i would be really happy with 4-2, coming into the season after preseason i thought we'd be lucky to beat chicago, i thought that after the chiefs game we'd be 1-4 again. just to be above .500 6 weeks into the season makes me happy.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I've been saying since the schedule came out if we can be 4-2 going into 2 divisional games we'll be ok. I'm thinking that we should split with NYG and Philly, beat the Rams and Raiders. That's 8 wins right there.. 2 games somewhere between Arizona, SD and TB or the other 3 divisional games that's 10 wins which should get us into the playoffs..

I completely agree, Pain. And I am happy to have a chance to be 4-2. Shows you how crucial Dallas and Seattle were. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I agree anything less than 10-6 will be a disapointment. And we must split with Philly and NY. Hopefully we beat the Cowboys again. The last three games could all be for a spot in the playoffs.
It is definately time to go see a doctor about these chest pains from the first five games, because the next eleven will all be just as close. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I know I'd be extremely happy starting 4-2 especially with the knowledge that the 2 losses were caused by self created mistakes. The offense is playing a hell of a lot better than I thought they would be at this point. The biggest concern is the team MUST stop with the fumbles and when the defense has the oppurtunity, they must come away with the turnover and sacks especially when u have a qb not really known for his elusiveness escape the grip of 5 players. Another area that needs shoring up is the run play calls. Portis is just not cutting it when going up the middle and those wind up just being wasted plays. And I still don't think we've really seen the team, other than the Brunnel to Moss connections, click at it's full potential.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I agree. When Portis gets outside, it seems like it's ALWAYS at least 4-6 yards a pop...

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
Everyone else in the NFC East has a harder game than the Skins this coming week. As tight as the division is, the Skins could go from last place to first place again in one week. The Skins should not over look the 49ers and I don't think they will, but it could be a good week to get on a roll and maybe heal some guys, like Portis, if they can get it going.

Coming of two straight losses, they better not overlook ANYONE. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
4-2 would be awesome, consider the Skins were 2-4 in '04, 3-3 in '03, 2-4 in '02, 1-5 in '01. 2000, the Skins were 4-2 to start the year.
the 49ers are terrible, but the Skins will be prepared. Last year's Cleveland team was more talented than the current 49ers team. They squeeked out a win against a St Louis team that overlooked them, and haven't done anything since. Alex Smith takes over the reins, and even with the bye week, won't be enough to turn the tides. |
