Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
I don't know what would happen, but I know the Giants have one sickly owner left in their reserves and I hope he doesn't die during the week of December 24,2005.

Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
Snyder could definitly become a great owner of the redskins and some day be remembered fondly in Washington. But what made Mara special were his contributions in helping to build the NFL & being a very well liked man league wide. If all that matters is results then Mara's track record was surpassed by JKC, but there was no league wide memorium for big Jack...
As I recall there was very little acknowledgement given to Jack Kent Cooke at the time of his death. He may not have considered being a priest like Wellington, but he presided over three superbowl victories in his life time. |
Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
The rest of the NFL would probably throw a big party!
And some of the fans as well,....starting with me. Is the orginal poster really suggesting that a craping 5 year owner who has brought ruin to his team should be given the same respect as a founding leader of the NFL? Or am I reading too much into it? |
Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
I was kidding.

Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
There are a few misconceptions about how players view Dan Snyder. One thing cannot be overstated, though - he pays very well.
So, what would the reaction be? Grief for some, indifference for some, and the inconsolable emptiness when someone fixes a broken cash machine that spits out too much money for others.
Very funny! What would happen?

Snyder's portrait will be on the first eight pages of GAMEDAY, the programme sold at the games. It will be a bio telling how all his life experiences led up to his successful ownership of the franchise.
FedEx Field would be renamed FedEx Snyder Memorial Park
Future Hall of Famers Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith will attend the funeral in gratitude for the second chance in their career.
The grief stricken Redskins will lose to an NFC East rival 36-0.
Six Flags will finally agree to be acquired by Snyder. Oops, too late.
God's contract will be terminated in a dispute over control.
I think Snyder would be remembered as the man to got Gibbs back and it would be left at that. :stop: |
Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
Same thing that happened when Jack Kent Cooke died. Party party party.

Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
I think if Snyder died I'd feel pretty much the same way Chicago Bulls fans would feel if Jerry Krause died.

Re: What Would Happen if Snyder Died?
There are two good things about $nyder.
1. He's local ownership. Thinking about the Nats on that one. 2. He WILL sign checks for players! If he sits in a corner and learns from Gibbs and real football people, he could be a good owner by the end of the decade. THEN, he would be missed! |
