Re: Arrington's last stand?
If it comes to a move, what are our financial options with Lavar? I realize it has been posted before, but the massive loss of brain cells in my youth precludes any long term memory of a Lavar Arrington nature.

Re: Arrington's last stand?
THe washington times is the worst newspaper ever. This is definetly old stuff. Are they trying to derail the team???????

Re: Arrington's last stand?
I don't get this right now coming from Arrington, this has to be something old with some more recent material mixed in with the rest of the garbage. Even so Lavar saying the crap about management is mad about him and football is not that important to him. I remember just two or three years ago him going off on players for not taking losses serious and the joking around after games. If this is true, Arrington really is a cry baby, and can't handle not being an individual standout on what we have a team environment with no me, me, me, mentality.

Re: Arrington's last stand?
It makes more sense to keep him cap wise, unless we can afford to take another monster cap hit like we did with Coles, which I doubt is going to happen.
I can't see him retiring, he's too young and has too much $$ to make.
Yeah this is clearly true...there is no way we can afford to release him with how tight the cap is gonna be next year. We are gonna have to work a little magic with the cap numbers (nothing that Im not confident we can do with ease) but there is no way we could take a $13m hit by releasing or trading him. I just dont see how it could possibly work... |
Re: Arrington's last stand?
Unfortunately, LaVar doesn't seem to have learned anything about who Joe Gibbs wants on the team. He says he watched attitudes change towards Bailey, Smoot and others but attitudes changed when these players decided to "negotiate" performing at their high levels for financial rewards not included in their contracts. LaVar began doing the same thing with the Brothers Postons and then complaining about their capabilities when he didn't even read the contract himself. This is the same approach TO used and we see how that turned out. If you are going to have a high paying job, you had better convince your boss every day that that is the only thing that matters in your life and do it the best you can all of the time. Does he think Martyball can be played part time too? Send him back to State College to get more degrees and learn about management of organizations and incentives.

is this writter just blowing shit out his ass or is he right about
Arrington wouldn't be a Redskin next season even if things still were amicable between him and the organization. He is due $12 million in 2006, and he likely will be cut before a July 15 deadline in his contract that calls for him to be paid $6.5 million if he still is on the roster.
do we save 6.5 by cutting him?? |
Re: Well CRAP
Its an old interview it really is. My friend broke from discussion to tell me how good of an atmosphere it was on the John thompson show and in the Post TODAY

o i mean that is another article and it seems as if Lavar is happy in it. I didn't mean that it was an actual old article. I should clarify the interview is old and the writer just wrote the article at the worst time to do it. Lavar just seems to happy on the radio and in every other media outlet to say crap like this |

I was wondering, because I clicked on it earlier this morning and it was the article about Lavar. I didn't realize you changed it. |
Re: Arrington's last stand?
He is a great player and yes it's a slap in the face what the Organization does to its star players but it also has something to do with how bad the Org has mannege the cap and how much Dead money it has each year they have to cut and sign new players to stay under the cap.
Also I don't know when the Interview was but it felt like Ricky Williams was being interviewed, it tells that he doesn't has a lot of passion and I don't want that in my team even thought he is a great player like Ricky. Heck Ricky is only playing because he's broke I don't think a lot of teams are going to call on the door if he continues with that speach but it also sounded to me like a guy who likes where he lives who doesn't want to start in another place and thats why he's making all this talks. |
Re: Arrington's last stand?
Hell Yeah I Bet U He Said That Weeks Ago Or Its A Rumor, Man That Rumor Could Take R Focus Away From The Playoffs.

The way he talked about not playing made him seem so sad it would make you sad just listening to it. He doesn't like to say bad things about the organizatoin that is why i am surprised by this article. The thing is when lavar talks about not playing he gets real quiet and talks slow and then he just trys to rationalize. Like one time he said on the radio. I am just not good enough to be a starter. reading what he said makes him sound nonchalant but he really is just rationalizing. It seemed like it was hard for him to say that he wasn't starting quality. He always says he will fight back to a starting spot. When lavar got back on the field just listening to him the next day on the radio just put a smile on my face and i didn't even realize i was smiling until half way through it. |
Re: Arrington's last stand?
I wonder where this writer is from, this bastard could be a Cowboy or Eagle fan writing for the Washington paper trying to stir shit and take focus off the Skins and the need for this win. I know the Times is usually behind, but damn a couple months.
