Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded
Rumpth has hope, TJ they can fly him outta the country and leave him there.
Rumpth doesnt give any drastic advantage in the Madden game with Rumpth only slightly but its a start. |
Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded
Rexi, in all honesty you talk like you have something personal against Lloyd. Like it goes beyond football.

Re: Report: Taylor Jacobs Traded
why does something so right feel wrong? BYE BYE TJ. Finally. I can't believe that the niner fans think that we got someone that they wanted to get rid of. They need to understand it has been seasons and the fans wanted him off this team. It isn't just a normal piece of trash. This piece of trash has history here. He was going to get cut. Niner fans need to understand that they got someone that was going to be on the street next week.
With that said, TJ is going to make that team adn be good for them.
It's all in the eye of the beholder. Niners fans would tell you the same thing about Rumph. |
Pathetic? We got 2 draft picks for Brandon Lloyd. Brandon freaking Lloyd. A 3rd and a 4th next year. That was the trade of the decade right there...
Especially since the Skins love to build through the draft. |

Brandon Lloyd's rap cd beat out Rexi's debut album and he's been out on a vendetta to destroy his name. Lloyds sick rhymes mixed w/ athletic talent got to the gangster rappers core. |

He hated it in san fran. No need to say why but he did. That was his attitude problem. He has been great to the fans here and signs for them quite frequently, i already have his autograph. He has been doing daily reports on redskins.com and his attitude looks great over there. From the first time i heard him talk he sounded like a smart kid. He is fine as a number two. As your number one he did well with the cast he was given. HE had 15.3 yards per catch and had double the yardage of anyother player on your team. I think only 5 guys did that last year or something and the other 4 made the pro bowl within the past two years. I don't like insulting your team but i almost have to just to make a point. He had no help over tehre and did all that was possible doubling anyother receiver. DOn't worry about us, lloyd will do us just fine. On TJ, he will make your team. Trust me, he has a way of just making it every season. You don't know what kind of a relief this is for the skins fans who thought he could slip by. AS FOR NOW I AM ON THE JIMMY FARRIS BAND WAGON |

Well this has been confirmed by enough parties (Redskins and 49ers especially) that I can drop Report from the thread title

oh, i believe it. No way am i saying you guys got jipped. I am just saying you niner fans shouldn't be taking the skins as idiots. Its not like the skins value jacobs. Within the past week i said that if the jets offered a second for betts(wasnn't going to happen just saying) i would be happy if they gave us a third instead just so long as they took jacobs with them in the deal. I hate that guy being on the team. Nothing personal but i hate hoping great things and then him getting hurt. Again, i say and i have said many times before. Jacobs will do well somewhere else. I think he is going to be a good player for you. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
really, i am feeling wierd. I have wanted this for so long and it is finally here. I am not happy though. I am stunned. I can't believe that he is finally gone.

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
Rexi. What you fail to comprehend is that you have Mike Nolan and we have Greg Williams. Mike Nolan was run out of this town (so actually San Fran is taking our castoffs) and took his feeble defensive mind with him. Greg Williams is a defensive genius who takes players that other teams throw away and maximizes their talent. So what if you received a 3rd and 4th round pick. It will take you 3 - 5 years to get any value for them. The Redskins will contend every year that Williams runs the defense. That is 100% fact.

AS FOR NOW I AM ON THE JIMMY FARRIS BAND WAGON
He only had those stats becuase we were horribly thin at WR and Battle was hurt all season. Go look in the Lloyd thread that was created for me... I doubt that TJ will make the roster unless he comes out with very strong performances in the remaining 3 preseason games. He is battling for the 5th WR spot because we wont carry 6, a result of having 4 TE's making the roster (Vernon Davis, Eric Johnson, Delanie Walker, Brian Jennings.) Since WR spots 1-4 go to Bryant, Arnaz Battle, Bryan Gilmore, and Brandon Williams, the 5th is up for grabs. More power to TJ to make the team. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
I'm glad to see Taylor get out of town. I hoped he would carry the load when Patten got hurt last year, but he failed. We are way too deep at WR. I hope Patten sticks with us and gets another SB ring. We are headed to the dance and we all know it.

Than I pity your pass defense when he is on the field. Dorsey is from the U also and look at how he pwn's defenses with that cannon of his. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
I've seen the thread and it took all my power to stay out of it because i see no reason to defend a player that has been on the team for 5 months but it seems you really do have a personal problem with lloyd. I do go to other fansites but i have yet to go to a giants site and make fun of lavar being out because of the leg. We actually have reason to have a problem with lavar. HE is in our division. The reason i don't care for lavar is that he is off the team. Lloyd is off your team and you won't see him again this year so i don't understand why it makes a difference to you. I like other fans coming here as it adds variety but this is just the same point over and over.

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
what you need to know about jacobs
- he has potential(so much so that that single word makes me think of him) - HE is injury prone(to say that was an understatement would be errrr.... an understatement.) - HE is a practice beast. He will make you think he is great in the offseason allowing him to slip onto the team. Then he will hurt his eye lash and be out for 3 weeks - HE is, no, i actually think that is everything there is to know about TJ. |

Lloyd is a crowd pleaser because of his circus catches, but you have to pay attention to what he does when he isnt making those catches, like dropping them or making no attempt to catch them. How you seen any play from him that shows any kind of determination?
Anyway that is off topic so I am done discussing him in this thread. |

He really wasn't impressing the coaching staff this season and his performance on friday was the nail in the coffin. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
give us info on rumph
You can watch him for yourself tomorrow on NFL network ( re-air of 9ers/bears game). He's pretty much done as a CB, his best bet would be at FS though he failed that conversion last year. He doesn't turn his hips well enough to cover pro level WR's. He is a horrible at wrapping up tacklers and takes horrible angles. He can lay the wood however, but whiffs too often. I would be surprised if he makes the roster of any NFL squad this season.

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
You leave that to Gregg Williams hell buff your coal and make a diamond out of it.
I don't like the fact that we have so many former 49ers, that makes me queesy.
My thoughts exactly. Something just doesn't sit right...it's like getting ALL of the Jets in one year. If we trade for Alex Smith I'm writing Joe Gibbs a letter. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
All I want to know is who is our new whipping boy? I would say Todd Collins but that's too easy and he needs more time on our team? Also, the new guy should be on our roster at least two years. Any suggestions?

Mheisig, with the new baby and the 5-0 academy I'm a little suprised you remember what football is.

I was wondering the same thing. So I basically just went ahead and asked TMC to answer that in his chat. I think Hall might be a candidate |

No no, Todd Collins IS the new whipping boy. Did you not watch the game last night? He bypassed all "length of service" requirements for being a whipping boy. An INT to a lineman standing six feet away, a stupid safety, and tripping over his own feet all within 5 minutes means he can circumvent all standard Whipping Boy Eligibility Requirements and go straight into the position. |

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
Okay, John Hall and Todd Collins are worthy candidates for the new Warpath Whipping Boy title. If Holdman performs like last year he'll need to be considered. Maybe Frost, too?
TAFKAS, any chance we can get a poll for this? |

Q: How did Taylor Jacobs do as a cop? A: He couldn't catch a thief Hardy-har-har. Bad joke, but see I'm slowly getting us back on topic. |
Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
I guess the Washington- San Francisco connection was busy at work before the first pre-season game. Cerrato probably had to keep the door open for SF's other castoff's since to got a diamond in the rough in Brandon Llyod. Walt Harris top's all CB's in this scenario with the least amount of chance to be retained by San Francisco after the first opening game.

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
rumph is a former first round pick, i think he is better at safety than cb but could fill in as a backup if he can learn the system. i believe he went to "the U", so thats yet another "the U" player

Re: Taylor Jacobs Traded
With all of these "U" players we should just go ahead and change our team colors to Orange and Green. Geez! Jacobs would not have made the team, so now we get 3 more preseason games to look at this new guy. My gut says that with Moss, Lloyd, and El as locks in the WR position, there are really only 3 or 4 guys battling for a 4th and maybe 5th WR spot. Patten, Thrash, Farris, and Espy are all legit.

Yeah, but what we fail to realize is that by trading a player taken in the second round and a third and fourth pick for three first rounders (one aquired in free agency) the 49ers have us right where they want us... I love first round picks, we sign 3-5 of them every year! |
