Marshall didn't have a tackle because he didn't play. Cornelius Griffin is pretty good from what I remember.
yeah i meant Griff is the only one i wouldnt want replacing. i'd keep Daniels and Evans for depth maybe, but aside from depth i'd be cool with changing. |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
I was wondering why he had no tackles haha, thanks for clearing that up. I guess that explains why we couldnt stop the run or cover that big slow tight end. I like Griffin, too bad he's never healthy...and getting older may I add. By the way, Mike Rumph was absolutely embaressed sunday.

I find it hard to take you seriously when you didn't even know that Marshall was inactive yesterday. Did you notice #50 out there playing MLB?? I'll give you a clue, Marshall didn't change his number. |

I was watching the game from out of town, no sound, i was up in philly gimme a break, i know your upset about the loss

Well, if you want to pop off about the game I'd suggest at least knowing what you're talking about. You could always just check the game summary on NFL.com to see that Marshall didn't play. Sorry just a pet peeve of mine. |

Sadly he's not the only one. Someone on the radio yesterday, who is paid to know this stuff, kept talking about how they got nothing out of Marshall yesterday and that they should have played Rocky instead |

LOL, man that's bad. It wasn't the same guy who thought Chris Cooley was playing defense against Jacksonville, was it? |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
haha, now i feel slightly better. I thought marshall was getting the nod, didn't know his injury was that bad. I listened to half the game on the radio also, can't see any player #'s then. I saw campbell and heard posey's name in the second half, didn't put two and two together.

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
my deal on this team is that they don,t have an identity and it shows.
where do you start to me i start at the top with this franchise and dan synder himself for signing people who really don,t deserve 100 million dollar contracts while allowing other key players to go elsewhere when he could of resigned them.then you go trade your players and draft picks we can use to build this team into a superbowl contender again. joe gibbs aint the problem it,s the people around him thats the problem,on the field and in the front office. they truly need a GM aka. ..bobby beathard.we need someone who can swing deals and create draft picks to get the players. now to the sidelines ,joe gibbs aint the problem again al saunders is a great offensive mind but what we had wasn,t broke it only needed to be modified from last year but everybody felt like it needed an overhaul and that wasn,t necessary either.don,t get me started on brunell i said i wouldn,t mind seeing jason campbell at this point but we will never know now will we unless joe decides to play him and let him get some time on the field thats needed and he can do more than this dink and dunk offense that brunell knows all too well.for the defense a few injuries certainly hasn,t helped our case any at all this year but this happens to every team in football and all that is to me is an excuse ,you have the people play them. the players they brought in this year are backups playing in the starters role and they can,t handle it.we need a few more griffins out there on the DL.now for our lovely secondary ,you gotta love kenny wright and adam archueletta who looks lost out there i know gregg williams is doing what he can with what he has which isn,t much to begin with and it shows.... back to the offense and with the offensive line boy they look like a high school team out there this year, chris samuels to name one hasn,t performed up to his potential ,jansen looks lost casey rabach looked confused with a couple holding calls yesterday.ok i will stop it right there but i could go on and on and on but i really fell like i,m taking up too much of my own time and everybody elses to continue... oh yeah i feel alot better now thanks for allowing this diehard to vent on this stellar season thus far... should joe go i say no there are some others who should be shown the door but we,ll never know if and when that will ever happen..highest paid staff in football for what... but there is a part of me that wishes joe gibbs all the best and i,m glad to see him back in football and with our beloved redskins but there is also a part of me that wishes he was still in racing cause thats where hes winning races and championships now .and we all know how well he works with the people don,t we ..........the problem is the people here with the redskins that aint up to par with the grand scheme of things......... the face of the redskins is here to stay and in my heart that will never change ,you can,t walk away from what you,ve started remember what matty mentioned he did sign a 5 year deal.......so at 2-5 i,m here thru the storm and i will be there when it all happens and we can get back to where we belong......... |

How the f do you lump Joe Gibbs and Vinny in the same breath? Joe Gibbs is the redskins...if your going to run him out of town then send the helmets & shoulderpads with him and board up Redskins Park... |

i'll second that. |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
I cant believe anyone is asking for Joe to go. We were two games from the superbowl last year. Vinny no thats another story. The problem we face as fans is not the Joe cant coach. It is he has to much control. He did not have this kind of control last time around. One or two years before he retired he demanded that Bobby Bethard go or he would. Cook picked Joe Gibbs, and then a short time later he retired. This pssed me off, but I still would rather have it this way than any other. I believe Joe Gibbs will get this team together before he retires.

in short joe gibbs aint going nowhere........ the problem is the front office.. the problems is also the defense,secondary..offense ,offensive line ...etc.. in short everybody in this organization should be held accountable for their action ,lack discipline santana, frost, holding penalties..etc.. since synder has bought the redskins he has been to the playoffs twice since 1999. that to me is hard to stomach coming from a diehar like myself..and any other diehard for that matter. don,t fool yourselves here joe gibbs aint going nowhere... like celts said this thread needs to go... sorry tafkas i have alot on my mind here with this football team...and it aint joe gibbs...dan synder is my biggest problem. |

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
Starting over isn't a bad idea, if we keep this Offensive line together and start over in every other area, it might not take more than a season to get things together. We are in a worse position than square one right now, we LOST to the Titans, who arent even to square one right now. We got nothing goin for us currently, starting over is the way to go. liquidate the defense and skill positions and invest in draft picks, very simple.
Why would they blow up the offense when all they need is a QB who can throw between the numbers. Saunders said it himself that with Brunell they are limited. The defense needs more work than an O. Just bring in some young D-line talent and another middle linebacker (possibly a legit corner) and you are good. Doc Walker had a great point today. If they needed a good corner to keep the defense competitive, why they hell didn't they sign Ty Law? We sign Archuletta and Carter to huge contracts when we could have had the best cover corner on the market. Just another example of why we have the worst front office in football. |

Sort of like the Seahawks did with Holmgren. My feeling though is that Gibbs wouldn't accept that. |

This thread is so f-ing rediculous...I would not fire Gibbs if it were a 100% certainty that they would win next years Super Bowl as a result. It's just not worth it to me...Gibbs is the Redskins in my eyes.

Gibbs is not the GM...he's coach and team president. Vinny & the other scouts have much more to do with the overall roster than Gibbs does. I am sure Gibbs hand picked MB and JC but he is not acting as GM here. They do need to fire Vinny and get a GM but that has nothing to do with Gibbs job... |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
Vinny really doesn't have any power anymore, he hasn't since Gibbs came back. He's a scout and helps in player evaluation. Getting rid of him won't accomplish much at all.
As for the neverending GM thing, if Gibbs wanted a GM I'm sure Snyder would gladly sign a check for anyone that he wanted. But Gibbs has repeatedly said that he's happy with the personnel decision process as it currently is.
You are correct about the gm / and evaluating . But I do believe if this team is going to win year in & year out , that Synder is going to have to tell Gibbs that he is hiring a Gm and the Gm will make ALL personel decisions . Gibbs is to willing to throw away too many draft picks for average players all to often . I hope Dan can get the Steelers or Patriots ,,, even Baltimores GM and build a strong team . For now ,,, lets just kick the cowboys ass ! |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
Gibbs is the CEO and Vinny is a joke. The three stooges are killing this team{GIBBS<VINNY>LITTLE DANNY} They all should be fired.

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
Funny thing....if we all of a sudden go on a 5 game winning streak....you guys calling for Gibbs' head will be lickin' his feet. So many turncoats...so little time.

If they go on a 5 game win streak it won't be with the 8 car and if 17 was that good, anyone who kept him on the bench should retire. If they go on a 5 game win streak I will lick Greg Williams' feet because the only way they could do that is if the D does a 180. |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
SKINSGUY we all would love the skins to do it. But the rest of us are living in the real world. With this qb we have now and no depth because of lack of draft picks, its not going to happen unfortually. I wish they would run the table and make all of us eat our word but its not going to happen. Were not turncoats were just tired tired of seeing this team being run into the ground the front office {GIBBS,VINNY,LITTLE DANNY}. Gibbs needs a football noy vinny to give him advice. God it would be great to have a GM running this team instead of the Three Stooges we have now. Hail to the Skins

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
Is this Gibbs last year as Head Coach and will he be moved to GM?
Then the start of Gregg Williams as Head Coach? That's the way I see it! REDSKINS NATION!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.
i don't see coach Gibbs leaving unless the skins pull off this monumental turnaround this season. no way he leaves a mess like this for someone else to clean up

Does anyone still honestly believe that personnel at the skill positions (other than qb) is the problem? We have a freaking all star team. They just need to be coached and have plays called in a manner that takes advantage of their talent. How does Saunders go from having a powerful offense in KC with trent green (he puts up #'s in the system, but no way he's a "premier qb.") and a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier wideouts, to nothing but 5 yard out patterns, screen plays and running the ball 75% of the time with a) Santana Moss- a top 10 receiver in the league b) Antwaan Randel El- a great all around weapon c) Brandon Lloyd- not a #1 but definitely an above average #2 d)CLINTON FUCKING PORTIS e) Chris Cooley- a clutch te/hb who's emerging as a leader on the team...? I just don't get it. It all looks so good on paper. These are legit players who have played at a high level in the NFL. This offense is like taking filet mignon and making a burger out of it. The meal just doesn't live up to the ingredients. And the defense would be a hell of a lot better if we could sustain drives to keep them off of the field. |

Agreed. I don't see talent as a problem right now. The pieces of the puzzle are there, it's just not coming together for a variety of reasons. |
