So your solution to the problems is what?
I'll give you the "Gibbs is God Crowd" answer. "If he is that bad he wouldn't be in the Hall of Fame" Great answer, but how does that fix the problems. Ready for the fix, Put Gibbs in as GM and bring in a younger coach. A fresh look would be "fresh"! |

And if that "younger coach" isn't successful, you just keep switching coaches, correct? |
to me portis didnt seem to happy this year, even at the start of the season. i hope he doesnt want out, but i wouldnt be too suprised if he pulled a coles. portis just seems like a guy who cant stand to lose, even moreso than most atheletes, and if he takes too much losing he cracks
Well he did get hurt in the first preseason game, so he's been playing catch up ever since. I think Portis saw the handwriting on the wall, and the season is too long to start off injured and expect to get healthy. Frustrated, I can see, but unhappy never. Campbell starts! |
Re: CP broken hand

It really makes me wonder what they're going to do about the offense next year. Is Saunders outta here? Or does Gibbs make him incorporate the running plays that Portis likes?
If you think this Al Saunders offense solely you need to study a little harder. This smells of Joe Gibbs and it stinks. The same offense we saw in the playoffs last year, only the Skins have more Wide outs this year.
Not sure what you've been watching this year but it's definitely not a Joe Gibbs offense. Outside of the Cowboys game where we saw some counters, this running game is Saunders all the way. Smarten up kid. |

So, who much Gibbs football did you grasp during his 1st tour in DC? MAybe 3 years? I went through the first 11 and now 2-1/2 sonny boy. So, I am pretty sure I can tell Gibbs coaching when I see it. Gibbs football is more than counters and someone who has watched the Skins during each of Gibbs run knows better. Keep studying oh wise one. Someday you'll know what playing not to lose vs playing to win is all about. |

Damn.

Re: CP broken hand
how's our running game this year in general? it has suffered much from this year's playcalling and Brunell's tendencies as a passer.
And now it's Brunell's fault that we can't run the ball. He must be the worst QB at handing off in the league.
Quick, when it doesn't improve under Campbell, what is the excuse then? I want to know ahead of time so I can prepare myself. |
Re: CP broken hand
Also 61cad is about to get owned.

Quick, when it doesn't improve under Campbell, what is the excuse then? I want to know ahead of time so I can prepare myself.
We have run the ball, albeit inconsistently. But, Brunell is partly to blame for the running game not being better as no defense in this league respects our non-existent deep passing game. Forget deep passing game, no defense in this league respects our non-existent intermediate passing game. Defenses simply target our tailback or pin their ears back and go for Brunell because they know he can't throw deep enough to make them pay for their aggressiveness. Ugggggg, the never-ending Brunell debate. The Ramsey-debate version 2.0 and I'm partly to blame for it. |

I see. So you're a fan of constantly changing the coaching staff. And if that "younger coach" isn't successful, you just keep switching coaches, correct?
And you watched this year an approve at how well the team has been coached? With the no offense (Gibbs is an offensive god), penalities, miscues, and lack of game prep, this looks like the Norv Turner teams. Gibbs and his staff have been out coached during 7 games this season. What do you think ,Gibbs can wave his 3 Super Bowl rings at the opposing coaches and they will bow down because of his resume from the 80's? It's not just players play, the coaches are not coaching. Oh.... If changing the coaching staff is so wrong, why did Gibbs add Al Saunders this year? Apperently, not such a great move by Gibbs, would you agree? |

I'm not going to argue about my knowledge of Gibbs and the Skins. I lived, ate and breathed the Redskins just as much as a kid as I do now. If you really think we are still running Gibbs' offense right now so be it. You're entitled to your own opinion, wrong as it may be. Just for the record how old are you? |

Re: CP broken hand
Nice job learning how to use the quote feature Cad
Here's what Brian Dawkins had to say last week by the way: On if the Redskins offense looks any different this year as opposed to the previous two seasons: "You can tell it is not "Gibbs ball' where you are pulling everybody, running the running back and pounding the defense. That is not what they are dong. Last week is a taste of what they are going to try to get back to. They ran the ball quite a bit last week. I think that is going to be his solution to what is going on there: to run the ball, control the clock, do the passing plays and the boots that they have always done. I think they are going to get back to trying to run the ball more." |

Re: CP broken hand
OK, so I have something to say about CP! I got the feeling last night when Saunders was being interviewed and talking about JC, that when he was asked about CP he got very tense and even stopped himself from rolling his eyes. I get the feeling that those two hate each other, which is just horrible for the Skins.

Since he was on the field playing against it, and he undoubtedly studied the offense on film all week, crazy as it may seem I'll give his opinion the nod over someone watching at home. Yeah I know it's an insane thought, but you're just gonna have to trust me on this. |
