On the main page the thread lists don't have Last Page button or any other info besides the thread title and number of posts.

I think that's really it right now.

In my honest opinion TMC deserved this. He has been a long member of the board and he is dedicated. Plus we are not simply a football board, we do talk about other issues and TMC is a dynamic member who contributes to the Parking Lot as well. Plus just because someone cracks jokes doesn't mean they are not meant to be Mods, sometimes you need to laugh and there is no point of being very serious every living moment of your life. People get on the warpath to escape from the rigors of daily life and talk about stuff they love, and I think we all love a good laugh.

Forgive me if this question seems really stupid, but what exactly is the moderator's role?

Seems like CC and Summo have very specific roles, CC as the expert with the cap sheets and Summo with the avatars and graphic design.

And I know Joe Crisp used to act as, I'll call it, "provider of inside information", which was handled by Gmanc last year.

And of course, Matty's the Architect.

So what is the role of the rest of the moderator staff? I guess uphold the forum rules, keep the board organized, talk about what the board needs more/less of?

All of us work together "behind the scenes" on upcoming projects. Some which come to fruition (Tony McGee), others which don't, or haven't yet.

Hey TMC, you're a Mod now so you can answer this- did you guys change the display features on the site? I noticed user's ages are no longer listed, and neither are the specific forums where each thread is located on the main page. I also saw the time/date of the thread origin is now hidden as well. Am I right, or did I change some setting on my cpu and not notice? Is this an attempt to make everything look less cluttered? (I didn't have a problem with it before, but it looks a bit nicer now).

The changes are intentional to help clean things up a bit. In fact if you log out and view the main page it really looks different as a guest.

One super minor detail that would streamline a little is to add like 2 transparent pixels to the top of the lastpost.gif. It is always off skew to me and breaks up the clean straight lines somewhat. I know it is a totally anal detail but I do this stuff for a living and that type of thing always kills me in design.
