Oakland was jipped.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)
ohhhhhh that was nice. Raiders went for the game winner in overtime, Seabass kicked it, straight down the middle, but milliseconds before the ball was snapped Denver called a timeout so the kick didn't count. Then, on the same play again, Seabass kicked it but it hit the left upright and bounced out. That's gotta f'n suck so bad.

And now Denver is driving and they are on the Raiders 49 yard line.
I love it when the Raiders lose...well hopefully they will cause of that.

Janikowski has a HUGE leg...shame he's not accurate.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

They said he was hitting 65 yard field goals pregame with no wind, I heard on his missed kick that Shane Lechler didn't get the snap down right. I wanted to see the Raiders win this game because everyone is all over Denver's nuts.

mooby 09-16-2007 07:44 PM

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

Yep Raiders are about to lose, first and goal Denver, it's a friggin chip shot now.

EDIT: Raiders lost. I can only imagine what they are feeling right now, having kicked the game winner only to find out it didn't count, and then they lose the game.

Cowell 09-16-2007 07:47 PM

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

I picked the Raiders to win too, I'm so pissed I had the upset game picked man. Screw Mike Shanahan and his last millisecond timeouts.

I don't give a crap about the Broncos or Raiders, I'd just rather see the Raiders win.

I hear a lot out here, but that's cause if you're not a Cowboys fan, you're a Broncos fan, but it seems as if no one gave them a shot with Cutler at the helm.

I think I still have hatred of the Raiders since 1983, but at this point, if they played the Patriots, I'd pull for them.

100% agree!
I hate the Patriots...almost as much as I hate the Cowboys. If those two teams faced off in the super bowl, I honestly feel like I wouldn't watch the game at all.
With the amazing blow out vs the Colts in week one, and now the loss to the Bucs 31-14, this team looks like they are one of the worst in the NFC.
Thoughts?
Wait, did the Giants move to the AFC? Damn, can't believe I missed that one. I'm sorry, I have to go slit my wrists with a rusty butter knife now.

Nice sig there Coggs lol.

But yeah as much as I dislike T.O., I have to give him props for his touchdown celebration against Miami, it was pretty nice lol.

I hate the Chargers. Well no, it's not so much that I hate the Chargers it's that I hate Norv Turner. Well now, it's not so much that I hate Norv Turner it's that he doesn't deserve to be the head coach of that team.

You can maybe (MAYBE) make the argument that he deserves to be a head coach. Although I don't see it. But he doesn't deserve the Chargers.

mooby 09-16-2007 08:55 PM

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

I like the Chargers, and I dislike the Patriots. But yeah with Norval as their head coach they aren't gonna go anywhere. It was a really bad decision to let go of Marty, even more so because they replaced him with Norv.

I would never make that argument...he deserves to be an OC.

Now you know what it feels like to be a skins fan for the past...ooooh decade and a half.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

I'll give Norval some credit, he is a pretty damn good o-coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Alex Smith was improving last year but I'm not so sure he's gonna continue improving this year.

SmootSmack 09-16-2007 09:39 PM

I'm not sure he's that good an O-coordinator, I'll just give him credit as a QB coach.

EDIT: Raiders lost. I can only imagine what they are feeling right now, having kicked the game winner only to find out it didn't count, and then they lose the game.
The NFL tends to be very loose on the rules involving the Raiders. Shanahan is a giant ****bag and they should NOT have allowed him to take a time out after the fact. If it was a low intensity play in the 3rd quarter, and had he tried to take a timeout right at the snap, they probably would have ignored him. He had his ten seconds to ice the kicker, the Raiders got the snap off before the whistle, and both sides played out the snap.

If I'm Lane Kiffin, I would have pulled my team off the field right there. If the game goes under protest, then it goes under protest. I would not allow my team to be embarassed at the hands of a rival after I legitimatly won the game.

In the grand scheme of things, this game isn't going to cost the Raiders anything but pride, but after seven years of stuff like this, Al Davis' patience with the officiating has to be wearing thin. It is one more win for the Denver Broncos that very generously I can say they didn't deserve.

Well, there has been a lot of talk about the radio waves in Gillette stadium being all messed up. I wouldn't put it past Bill Belicheat to be stealing radio signals. You know, the Boston area is known for many great colleges like Harvard and MIT...he could have hired some prodigy to help him steal signals.

Well, I don't think the Patriots are cheating tonight, and they look just fine to me. As I said, they didn't even need to cheat. They are easily the best team in the NFL right now.

Although A.J. Smith has done a nice job picking players in the draft and free agency, he's an idiot for pushing for Marty's firing. How the hell does a coach who's team went 14-2 get fired AND then replaced by Norv?

Cowell 09-16-2007 10:47 PM

Re: Around the NFL (Week 2)

Maybe they didn't want to go 14-2 again?

This game (Chargers vs. Pats) got out of control the moment Norv started trying to play catch-up and stopped giving the ball to L.T.

And are the Patriots turning into a passing team or what?

Pats do what ever it takes to win. They can throw it on you, or play smash mouth like they did in the 2nd half. Love their offense and the way they game plan.
