Re: FedEx crowd noise
OK... how about this... here is Danny Boy... and here is what the fans should do to him::spank:
Of course, it would never happen... with the long waiting list for tickets, and rabid fan base, Danny is safe. |

Re: FedEx crowd noise
So, do we have proof that this is exclusive to the Redskins?
|
I sat under a TV and speaker (Section 236) and if there was any artificial noise coming out of it it wasn't enough for me to notice. I believe it was the largest crowd in attendance ever at FedEx. I though it was louder during last year's jacksonville game.
I just talked to another friend who went and he asked me if I was experiencing any hearing loss because he knows that he heard "crowd noise" coming out of the speakers where he was sitting at. I guess I'm heading to the ENT doctor. |

That is not the topic of the thread.... we cannot complain about others until we make sure we are without sin. :soapbox: |

thats impossible. he was just working at the burger king down the street |
Re: FedEx crowd noise
I have been to every game in that stadium, and yesterday was the first time I really noticed a difference in noise level. There were several times I put my hands over my ears it was so loud it hurt. Someone who posted earlier mentioned a ringing sound like feedback, I noticed it too but did not even think about artificial crowd noise until I heard it on the radio today.
I could care less if tthe Skins, or any team, does that - just don't make it so loud that I go deaf prematurely! |

Re: FedEx crowd noise
i mean really...i highly doubt 90k+ need extra help. where exactly were you that you could walk right up and listen to a speaker? sounds like a law suit...

HAHA! Word is that Gibbs is being detained until he can tender proof of his whereabouts on November 22, 1963. As for the noise starting and stopping, isn't it possible that people just stop screaming once the ball is snapped? Isn't the point of screaming to disrupt the communication of the offensive team? Once the ball has snapped, what is the purpose of continued screaming? (not knocking it if you do continue yelling, just I can understand if people chose to stop...save their voice) |

I sat 8 rows from the top and just under the speakers and they shut off before the Giants even got to the line. I have worked sounds systems and would have noticed if they were pumping sound through them. |

nah auh....:tongue... That was a joke, but I do have to disagree with you.... Multiple people who were at the game, felt like the Redskins were noticably breaking league rules. Whether or not this is true, it does warrant the discussion. Of course, being one of the people there with the ringing ears from the speakers, I have my opinion.... I have not noticed this at other games (and yes, I am a season ticket holder). I would suggest that only people who were physically present can render an opinion on this. It looks like a majority of the people who were at the game noticed this. That is based STRICTLY on this thread and others like it. |

I think what people may have heard is the fan noise through the announcers mike if anything. If the announcers do not cut off his mike or if the sound guy does not pull down his channell then it would pickup the fan noise but that would happen at all stadiums. |

Re: FedEx crowd noise
I wasn't there this week, but I go to about 5 games a year and usually sit in 429, and I know that I've said I hear crowd noise coming from the speakers on this site before (I'll find my post after lunch).
It could just be the crowd noise coming through the stadium announcers mic or it could be more shady, but I know I've heard it. |

I wouldnt doubt that it happens. |
Re: FedEx crowd noise
Watching on TV Sunday, it did strike me as the loudest I had heard the Fed Ex crowd on TV. In past years, I've attended 3-5 games a year, usually in section 436, and I never noticed sound being pumped in.
That said, I was embarrassed when the Danny used to have "DJ Johnny" provoke the crowd going into 3rd and long defensive plays. It was as if he thought that Skins fans were too stupid to understand the need to get rowdy. I took that as a collective insult against the football intelligence of Skins fans. |
Re: FedEx crowd noise
What I would like to see elimanted is the stupid guys that come out on the scoreboard and crush down the word DEFENSE! So fucking dumb and they have been using it since the staduim opened.

Re: FedEx crowd noise
Who gives a flying rats nut sack??!!!!!! I mean seriously, does it f*ckin matter?? Would you have even brought it up if we had won?? Do you really think it has/had a impact on the last game or any other IF its even true??
Sorry for the fed up pissed off rant here, but I just cant take it. And as matty said, jesus christ when is it going to end?! And I know some of you are gonna reply, "i have a right to voice my opinon".... bla bla bla, and you also have a right to kiss my ass and talk about something worth a shit!! You know what, sometimes I wish I never even had a computer. Ive been coming to this site since not long after it got up and running and became a member awhile back. I have quitely posted a few things here and there, but I mostly would read it for the INTELLIGENT and MEANINGFUL conversations by REAL fans who didnt think mankind was about to be destoyed and the world blown up because of ONE LOSS!!!!!!!! I had to stop coming here during the offseason, cause it was starting to get real negative then and i THOUGHT it would get better during the regular season, but I guess I was wrong. Let me stop here cause Im on a roll and could quite possibly write the longest post in the history of post. Again, my apologies to all of the Intelligent posters here. |

The timing is kind of curious for one thing. It seems like another pile-on the Skins thread. Plus, there's nothing really to say. Can anyone here prove what they are accused of? Was it unique to this game? Is it unique to the Redskins? |
Re: FedEx crowd noise
I can say that I have been to every game for the last 3 seasons and this was the first time I noticed it. It was clear to me, beyond any shadow of doubt, they were doing it. It wasn't just noticeable but it was obvious. Unless the crowd directly beneathe the corner endzone speaker that pointed directly at me was simply extra extra loud then it defintely happened. My question is this. Does anyone really care? I don't think it helped any. I doubt it did much other than get the crowd going a little more.
|
Re: FedEx crowd noise
My friend STU was at the game and I asked him about it and he said that yes the Stadium was pumping out crowd noise through the loud speakers.
That's wrong. Hail Skins peace mike |

Is it unique to the Redskins?
I said before that I know I've mentioned this on this site in the past (I just can't find my post). It may have been around the time that either the Colts or the Seahawks were accused of this. As far as proof, how is anyone going to be able to provide proof of this? If you're there you either hear it or you don't. Of course 90,000+ people are going to be loud as all hell but that doesn't mean that the people who run the stadium would never pump in sound. Hell, maybe they do it to try to pump up those 90,000 people and get them to yell louder. |
Re: FedEx crowd noise
I'm sure someone has already said this, but the Colts were caught putting in a base undertone when their defense was on the field during 3rd down or something. This effectively increased crowd noise I assume because someone found out.
|
Re: FedEx crowd noise
I was there and I didn't notice it. It was VERY loud but I don't think we did anything illegal like pumping sound through the speakers. I do think that the crowd noise was the loudest I have ever heard it.
