Re: Joey Harrington

It would have been nice to see hiim succeed but I wasn't particularly confident he would. On the flip side, if the offensive line is taking some of the blame then why switch to Leftwich? He can't move around any more than Harrington. Atlanta is well no their way to the #1 spot which means Petrino will have be able to get his boy Brohm. Probably isn't a bad move, either. Make some "critical decisions" that appear as an attempt to jumpstart the team but in reality it really just prevents the team from winning very many games, which in turn enables them to draft the franchise QB that helped the head coach land his NFL gig in the first place.

Falcons win the Super Bowl in 2010!

Probably not since he didn't go to Notre Dame, but you never know.

It could really shake up the draft order if say Andre Woodson goes first overall because he wins a bowl game over like USF or someone. Of course this isn't a great comparison because Woodson is way more deserving of the first selection than Russell was a year ago, but that was the first situation that came to mind.

Brohm has been money for three years now, and has earned the right to be the first QB off the board. Once the media machine gets going, I just worry that this kid is gonna get chewed up and spit out.

I have always liked Joey but i think he is only a solid QB and not a superstar QB

Watching other teams play the musical quarterbacks game that we played for years makes me grateful to have Campbell. He will only get better, and the Skins are set at QB for the next decade.

Poor leftwich...he's entering a terrible situation! That O line sucks in Atlanta, he can't possibly be very productive.

I call him the black Drew Bledsoe - a statue in the pocket with zero ability to elude a decent pass rush. As much of a liability as David Garrard is with his lack of a deep ball, Jack Del Rio made the right call getting rid of Leftwich.

I'd rather have Harrington or Bledsoe start instead of Leftwich. Leftwich is not smart and isn't mobile or a game breaker. Needless to say he has almost NO help in Atlanta. Falcons should pack it in with the Dolphins and trade someone for a pick while they have a chance.

Leftwich is a lot more mobile than people give him credit for. Yes, he is more mobile than Harrington. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Harrington was actually putting together a career year. I'm not sure he deserved to be yanked, as the one bright spot on that team this year, but Leftwich has been the better player over his career, and it's likely a good move.

I picked him up and started him in the Warpath $$ league (as a bye week replacement), so I guess I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

Yep, I think Heath Shuler just gave him a call about an open position in real estate.

I hope not to his face. LOL.

That's actually an insult to Bledsoe.

You are right about Del Rio making the right call.

Was it just me, or were atlanta and seattle not even trying this week? I've never seen the redskins put up that poor of an effort in my life....at lease we have consistent effort

We have been on the same side of the fence for almost every discussion, and this discussion is no different.
Harrington has not been mobile. Harrington has 383 yards in 76 games and only 1 time reached 100+ yards. Leftwich has gone over 100 yards in a season 2 times, and has 365 yards rushing in 48 games with 8 rushing tds.
Harrington has 0 rushing TD's to Leftwich's 8. So yeah, Leftwich is definitely more mobile.
Harrington had his shot, and he failed for the most part (4 tds in 6 games). It's time to at least TRY something else. I don't think Leftwich will succeed at all though. No one really can with that pathetic offensive line.

Re: Joey Harrington

Harrington is just not a good NFL QB. You can get by with him for a few games and that's it. With that being said the more I see of Leftwich the more I don't like him as a qb. He takes long slow drops when he passes, his footwork is sloppy and he can't move at all. He a the big arm but that seems to be it. Del Rio made the right move. Garrard is the better QB.

ATL is just desperate. Joey hasn't played that bad, but he hasn't been great either. They are just looking for a spark, can't blame them for making a switch.
