Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
NFLN is a joke. The only good part of last nights broadcast was the ST tribute. They can't call a game worth shit, thier presentation is old and annoying. Thier "field" reporters are pretty horrible and don't know how to talk, and somehow they can get the rights to show the game, and nobody else?
Seems like the commish or someone can step in and tell them to improve, or they lose thier "exclusive" thrusday night access.
Well lets see they are the NFL and the NFL network is owned by the NFL so its easy for them to get the rights to the game. They own the station. |

Good choice. I've actually been around Kathleen Turner on a film set once. What a biatch. |

Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
At least we get the "A+" team for the next two weeks games. Al Michaels and John Madden. That's Great!

Madden is a Has Been.... I think he is approaching senility... Heck maybe he is already there.... 1 thing is for sure... Madden won't have anything good to say about the Redskins...I do like Michaels.... |
Seriously. I miss Phyllis George and Jayne Kennedy!
I'm worried about Gumbel's health. He sounds like he was having mini-strokes throughout the broadcast.
Wow. A Phyllis and Jayne reference. I wonder what the breakdown is on the Warpath between those who get the reference and those who don't. This was a pleasure to find on Youtube. You know what I used as the search phrase? Irv Cross. lol awww. Madden's gotta have a few marbles still rollin around in the old noggin. I haven't heard his commentary in a longggg time. So it will be interesting to see what he has to say. It cant' be any worse than Gumbel rambling on about nothing and mixing up players. |
Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
Deion, Faulk and Gumbel?
I would rather listen to Dexter Manley, Bo Jackson and Terrell Owens in the booth... |

Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
you wonder why the NFL Network won't let any cable companies get the channel so more viewers can watch it. They would just be embarrassed that they have such a bad booth. I don't like gumbel too much, but collinsworth isn't all that great either. He's been a wise ass to everyone he works with. in his mind he's always right and i've seen him be smart with some greats like jerome and bob costas. who did collinsworth even play for??

Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
Collinsworth played WR for the Bengals and he was pretty good actually.

Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
Was there a game on last night. I watched about 5 minutes of the pre-game show with Rich Eisen, Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders and Steve Mariucci. The pre-game crew is better than the game time commentators Bryant Gumbel and Chris Collinsworth. Marshall Faulk is very good and is a rising star. Deion is animated but he does make some valid points. Mariucci knows what he is talking about. He comes across very well on air. Now Gumbel and Collinsworth, to sum it up in one word, SUCK!!!

Re: NFL Network booth horrible again tonight
I think that the NFL Network, to the extent that such a thing is logistically feasible, should pipe in the radio broadcast of the away team for the first half and the home team for the second. Either that or just show the game sans announcers. NBC broadcast a Jets game without announcers in 1980 I think it was. It works for me. I'm all about the football, see.

The NFL network wants to be on cable and is if you have didital cable (something like that). The problem is that cable is not willing to pay what the NFL wants and the NFL is not willing to drop their price. |

Gumble just called Frank Gore- Al Gore ..anybody catch that?? Rick Romo would be none to happy about that
