Yeah that team is McNabb/Westbrook on offense. Either of them goes down and they have a tough time winning against just about anyone.

What a nice night. Skins beat the Cowboys, and the Eagles lose. I loved the ending of that game too, that Eagles WR couldn't get out of bounds and the clock ran out.

NFL trivia time!

Question: Which NFC East team was the only team to win in Week 4 of the 2008 season?

Nice start to the season.

My favorite team is 3-1 after a huge win on the road against a division opponent

My 2nd fave team (Titans) is 4-0

My AFC Champion pick, and a team and QB I've been talking about for two years now (Bills) is 4-0

I need some WR help in my Warpath Free League though...

I don't understand what is going on in Tampa Bay. Why in the hell did Garcia get benched in favor of Griese? I know the Bucs are winning, but what gives? Gruden must have some serious beef with Garcia.

Haven't forgotten. I was going to start a thread on Kyle Busch following yesterday's race, but I figured I'd wait one more week. I mean for all intents and purposes he's out of it. Which is just remarkable.

I agree...I'm SHOCKED at how much he has fallen. He seems to have mentally given up too after the blown engine a week ago.

He's not a big guy, so he does need significant arm strength to make all the throws. The Bucs can't count on having the 2002 Garcia, or the 2006 Garcia, or even the 2007 Garcia. When those close completions start turning into INTs, he's valueless.

Did anyone think when Pacman got facemasked and complained to the refs, that his reinstatement was in jeopardy? He got a little nasty with the refs.

Nah, I don't think anything he does on the field, unless it's unbelievably awful, would compromise his reinstatement. Personal conduct stuff almost always refers to off the field issues.

Garcia had 90+ QB ratings in 2006 and 2007. Griese has thrown for 6 picks in 3 games and has a QB rating of about 65 this season. I've watched both both QBs and Garcia is simply the better QB. Supposedly, Garcia and Gruden had a dispute that got ugly and Garcia got benched. SS, can you shed some light on the subject?

Re: Around the NFL (Week 4)

As I understand it, ever since Gruden made it clear he wanted Favre this summer things have been pretty tense with him and Garcia. Garcia has felt he's being under-appreciated and slighted in Tampa-just like he thought he was in San Fran, Detroit, and Philly-and to an extent he definitely is. Still, it is interesting how no team makes a big push to keep him.

Garcia couldn't keep his mouth shut about Gruden's system. Gruden got tired of it and benched him.

I was thinking that Roger Goodell advised the refs to let Pacman get facemasked without a flag because he needs his head straightened out. :D

He's just one outburst and/or one strip club away from sitting in the commissioner's office.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 4)

you guys hear warren sapp about the raiders on inside the nfl? he said that the raiders would have a defense in place, and on friday al davis would up and change it for no apparent reason.he also said that there is a guy on the field every game who stands by the phone, just for al.he said he has called in and changed plays during the game.i also read on several websites, that al davis called a bunch of the plays last week against the chargers. no wonder there is not any'greatness of the raidas"anymore.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 4)

Al is old! Getting to be kind of a doddering old man. I got NOTHING against old men, as I am going that way myself. He has NO business with ANY decision making or input to this team other than in generalities. He is to the point where muich of which is going on is being missed by him. This is it for the Raiders unless they get a true GM, or Al passes on to his reward.
You know these things already if you saw his press conference.....embarrassing.

Monkeydad 10-02-2008 09:28 AM

Re: Around the NFL (Week 4)

This week, Al Davis also accused Bill Belichick of tampering with Randy Moss in the past.

Bilicheat said it's hogwash.

Which liar do we believe? :D

ehh i dont know if all al davis words were lies. You never know.

Re: Around the NFL (Week 4)

I wanted to believe Al, but as most people said he is getting old and he is losing his mind. I am sure some of the things he says are true(I really think him and Kiffin had communication) but he clearly screwed up the situation. What's wrong with wanting your staff to work for you, when you are a head coach.

It is interesting, but if the Skins started off 0-4 all hell would be loose here. We would be pointing fingers at Snyder for picking Zorn, not letting him pick our D coordinator, having too much control, blame Vinny, etc etc. See what winning can do?

you are right, but snyder is a great businessman, and if he went out and acted like al davis did the other day and still continues to do,it would hurt him in the pocketbook and snyder would'nt do that just because it 's a bad business move.if i owned raider season tickets,i'd really be pissed.above all, snyder is a great businessman, and i could never see him doing anything that unprofessional.
