Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
I don't think there can be an educated prediction for this game. The emotion factor makes it unpredictable IMHO: the guys may come out and play out of their minds and put fear in the hearts of the g-men. Our guys may also be simply overwhelmed w/ emotion and have an off game. Too hard to say, but I will say this, I don't think injuries will be a real factor.

Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
NFC East games are usually close, and I expect this game to be. Giants have been on a roll this year due to their physical play all game. They are strong on offense as well as defense, but the Redskins match them very well. Most people think about the first time we played the Giants back in week 1. Teams change through the season. It is all about who has the strongest finish.
The Redskins are in a position in which they need to win or their season will can be in jeapordy. One loss can put them in the bottom of the pack in the wild card race. The Redskins can not afford to lose this Sunday against an NFC East team. This win will hurt the Cowboys even if they defeat Seattle tomorrow. We have not been too good at home. We have lost 2 big games in a row at home which pretty much shows that we are in the position to win a big one against the Giants. This game will go down to who has the strongest push in the 4th qtr. Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
The Giants are an elite football team. They can pound teams into submission with their hydra-headed rushing attack and they can pass the ball well enough to make big plays when necessary. They can also stuff the run and rush the passer.
The Redskins offense is inconsistent. The rushing attack has been very good all season long, but the passing attack is erratic and has been less than impressive over the past 6 weeks. The Redskins defense, however, is excellent. The Redskins don't get many sacks, but who cares? They're a top 10 rushing and passing defense. The Giants should win this one, but they don't. The memory of Sean Taylor drives Portis to rush for over 100 yards and the defense plays lights out. Oh, and to go even further out on a limb, Malcolm Kelly comes up big for the team. Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
Home games hurt and as great as it would be to win, without marcus washington, our D has not been the same for part of the dallas and against seattle. unless our line prevents sacs which hasnt looked very likely lately, we cant beat these guys. Happy thanksgiving!

I would love to see us win this, but outside of a miracle of God I don't see it happening. the Gmen are playing well and we are pretty banged up.
I hope I am wrong but I see them handing us our hats |
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
I hate the fact that if we lose this game, our home record will sit at 3-4. That's unacceptable.

Agreed. Ever since they said they were inducting Taylor at this game, I've just had a good feeling about it. It just seems like everything is set up for us to pull the upset, and I have still had a great feeling about it all week. I'll say this, there is really nothing to base this on. The Giants are a better football team than we are, they do almost everything better than we do, so if we lose, I wont be shocked or too dissapointed. I still think the Giants are the best team in the NFL, and I'm pretty sure they'll represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.....but I'm a big beliver in fate...I have a real good feeling about this, thats all I'm going to say: Skins 20 Giants 14. |
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
The Redskins turned it around when Shawn was murdered & hopefully they can turn it around Sunday in memory of him. They need to play this Sunday like he did on every play.
|
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
Marcus Washington not playing and perhaps London Fletcher not playing will cause major holes in our defense. The skins are too banged up and they are playing the best team in the NFL.

Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
I love these scores 35-3 c'mon people. I know we're not favored to win but nobody puts 30 on us even in our worse game pitt only had 23. And the most we've given up is 24. The giants get alot of points from turnovers and we're not turning it over much. I say win or lose we play our best game of the season all things considered The Taylor tribute, rematch revenge keeping our playoff hopes alive. I'm a Redskin homer so i'm going 24-21 SKINS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep! And they are due for a loss. It will come Sunday in what is and HAS been a close match-up for the last few seasons. Springs takes a pick to the house for 6! Cooley and Davis combine for 2 TD's! HAIL Sean T! Skins 27 Littles 24 |
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
Just for the mere fact that all the experts on ESPN and pretty much everywhere else predict a Giants win. I'm going with the Skins to pull what most people would say is an upset, not me
The Redskins of 2008 are a better team than the injury plagued 2007 team and the Giants are the same as last year. So why are people all scared? That's why they play the games. |

That's why they play the games.
The Giants are have essentially the same personnel as last year, however they are not nearly the same team. Their offensive line seems to get better every game, they are still rushing the passer with ferocity despite no Strahan OR Umenyiora, their running game is better, Eli is more efficient, and they are two games ahead of where they were at this point in 2007. They didn't really gel as a team until the final 4 regular season games/playoffs last year. This year, aside from the Cleveland speed bump, they are a machine. And they've scored 30+ in 4 straight games, and only less than 21 twice all year. Yeah, we're better than we were last year, but we're still just as injury plagued. This is such an important game. I hope we can overcome the odds. Hey, at least it's not a night game! |

Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
I was feeling depressed this week because of the thought of having to play the 10-1 giants. But after a little bit of number crunching, i am feeling much better.
The 'skins have played the top 3 offenses in terms of points scored, (saints, giants, cardinals). These 3 teams combined have scored 29 points a game. But the average allowed by the 'skins to these 3 teams is a mere 19 points per game. not bad, not bad. of course stats can be skewed to make a person feel better, but i'm going to reno and bet on the 'skins to win. |

if that happens I would say the off line is the hero,I'd much rather see Portis with 50 yrds and Campbell throw for 400 yrds, when was the last time a redskin qb won the game for us when the run game wasnt working?JC has stepped up his game this yr,but he needs to step it up another notch,he needs to take over a game and win it on his own |

For our sake i hope not because for my Colt Brennan theory to manifest it will need Jason to get injured this week or next..I really regret saying that back in pre-season. But we live and die by the running game. |
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
Brandon Jacobs is also questionable but don't forget Derrick Ward carved us last year
|
Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
The giants come out and score 14 in the first half to quite the crowd, Portis gives an emotional half-time pep talk to fire the boys up and we score 21 points (in honor of ST) to win the game in a traditional NFC East battle.

Re: Skins vs. Giants predictions
I'm thinking in this game, Fletcher's absence wouldn't hurt us all that much since the Giants are a power running team that would abuse an injured, undersized Fletch.
Blades' play recognition and aggressiveness are going to be key in this one. |
I wish I could be more optimistic:
Giants 28 Skins 10
Have to agree with Matty on this one. WE still can't score, and the defense let the Sea sparrows make it a game. The Gmen are a complete team, strong in all facets of the game, while we are only firing on half our cylinders. The Burress shooting will only keep the score from getting out of hand. The Gmen seem to be possessed and on a mission to prove that last season was no fluke and that they are indeed the best around. I agree, and that is why the odds are indeed long on the Skins eeking out a win. Also forget the emotions running high thing. Emotion can play a good part in a football game, but can't overcome a team that is solidly superior, and that is what we have here. Also we are road warriors this season. Playing at Fedex isn't like playing at RFK. The crowd might be big, but not really that intimidating. |
